Transfer ALL from Digitone Keys to Digitone

Hey all,
anybody already transfered all the data from DIGITONE KEYS to DIGITONE ?
I’m considering a more compact set up, but i’m afraid the sounds could change in the process, as the digitone keys is not exactly the same as the digitone.

Yes. It’s exactly the same.

no expert on the subject but I took a look at all the 11 soundpacks tagged for DNK in the elektron shop and they all are compatible with DN, so the regular export/import should work without issues

thank you ! I’m more concerned about the patterns that i have created . Like, will it keep the parameter locks and stuff ? On the digitone keys, there’s a shortcut button to User Config. I don’t think there’s one in the Digitone, is there ?

nope, it will be probably be stored in the patch but no way to control it unfortunately…

Hey, sorry to bother but, i just used TRANSFER for my backup.
the thing is:
i can save PROJECTS
i can save SOUNDS

but how about the PATTERNS ?

patterns are saved with with the project, you can take a look at the data structure section in the manual and you will see that only Projects and Sounds are stored on the +Drive

Thank you. I know this architecture.
I saved and imported my project in a new project slot.
It didn’t copy everything:
I usually allocate T4 for drums, with a main sound for the track, and lots of steps are allocated different sounds. Those didn’t load. Or maybe it’s the pool that i need to import as well?

Anyway, backup of all data seems complex to me on this device.

that’s a good question, I assumed the project export should include the pool too, are you sure you saved it properly before exporting?

I didn’t do it on digitone lately but I did on the rytm and sent the project to others who successfully imported with all the plocks and the samples, I don’t use presets so the rules might be different on this but I would make sure to save the project properly before exporting

also, I would try importing the presets before the projects, just to make sure that the presets already on the drive before the projects

Digitone Keys and Digitone are exactly the same (except the extra keys, pots and buttons)
So in terms of data, you won’t have any issue
