Track Sample Playback

Hello everyone,
I have a track on the Octatrack with a sample assigned, but no TRIG in the sequencer that always plays the sample when the PLAY button is activated. I have checked all the settings for the sample and they seem to be okay. I wanted to find out whether anyone knows why this is happening. I just bought the OT MK2 about 1 week ago and patiently trying to get familiar with it. Thanks!

Maybe rephrase ā€“ your sentence makes no sense and I can only guess that your sample always plays when you press play although no trig is pressed? Even after a reboot?

Yes, your guess is right. It only does that on a specific track. The other tracks do not play any sample assigned without a trig. I have rebooted and it is still the same.

First Iā€˜d check in the menu and change loop from auto to off. Then maybe look in the track menu and turn on track starts silent.

I have no idea why a sample would play without being triggered by a trig or by manually starting it.

Is there a midi device connected to OT that could be triggering the track?

Thanks for the help. I tried that already but it did not work. Really strange in my opinion also. Hopefully I can figure it out.

Did you check all pages? (Page button)

There is no midi device connected at the moment.

Yes, I checked all the pages. There is no trig on any of the 4 pages.

Thanks for the help. I actually discovered that there is a trig on one of the pages. I must have missed it earlier. It is now working fine. Still a newbie (1 wk) with this machine, and I have experienced some other hiccups which the manual was able to resolve. Still keeping the faith with this machine. Thanks to everyone for their help.
