I love my Digitakt but i hate the way you mute/unmute tracks. I wish it would work like the Octatrack where you can press function-track in all modes.
Does anyone know a workaround OR does anyone have a recommendation for a simple midi controller with 16 buttons that i could program for muting/unmuting?

Do you mean when changing patterns?
You can hold function and double press the mute/bank button to turn the track leds purple and those are global mutes which persist across any pattern changes you make.
Or can you give a bit more detail about what is/isn’t happening for you?
I meant muting and unmuting tracks while in grid recording mode
Try holding FN + Track, it works on most screens to pull up the mutes.
There aren’t dedicated track buttons, it’s not something I’ve ever come across that isn’t just as easy to drop out of grid by pressing record again, func+track button to mute and then hit record to go back into grid mode?
Yeah weirdly enough that works but for me kicks me into chromatic keyboard mode which is more presses to get back out of to grid mode.
