Never start a vs thread on an Elektron site with an Elektron product :joy:

The TR8S is bigger than Iā€™d prefer. It looks rather nice next to the Digitone with the rainbow-on-black aesthetic they both share though. Two Digitones side-by-side with a TR8S behind them sounds like a really nice setup to me.

Obvious advantages for TR8S first up are drum synthesis and stereo samples

downside: tacky laser tag light-show faders. Though it is a step up from the TR8

Yep TR8S still looks hideous unfortunately

Not loving the rainbow faders either but personally Iā€™d quite like it if they added lasers

I think you can configure lights to your liking

Wondering if we can change the LED color to white. Donā€™t know much about this darntootinā€™ newfangled LED techmowizzims. I know you can pick colors, but is white a color choice?

Exactly.
Just like the Rytm MK1.

It will be interesting to see if Roland add sampling down the road, or if it is a hardware limitation as on the ARmkI and they bring out a TR-8smkII at a later date.

the 6th voice looks white in the beginning of this video:

These devices are just too ugly. I think that is downside on the Roland. Looks like toys.

FYI, both DT and TR8S save tempo inside the pattern.

for hundred bucks more you could get an AR MK1 and have also 8 outs.

10 outs, if viewing them the way the TR-8S has ā€œ8 outsā€
