Quick trick which brings the old tr jack into the elektron world on the cheap:
I picked up a cheAp tr626 drum machine this week and it has one hell of a shuffle, just Classic and head nodding jack
I am using it to trigger the mono machine to great effect via midi out to in and it just creates this superb shuffle and acid bubble lines on various machines - lock in midi trig via tr 626 notes, set the mono up with loads of plocks, throw in a an arp and strange Roland shuffles start to appear and disappear with grooves heading in all the right directions. Also head into the midi page and just randomly change around the midi configure on the fly for just really strange transitions and random acid or synth lines
I am now pondering if there are other old and cheap Roland midi seqs with a similar groove which I can use to jack up the mono machine
Immediately I Am thinking about the tr707
But what about other boxes with midi such as the mc 500
Hopefully someone can share some info here
