Total newbie question

Hi guys

Must say that even with buying a new mac and loads of synths and software my fave way of working is step sequencing on hardware and the elektron stuff just does it SOOO well. When I watched Jake and Jon demonstrate on Solid State I had to get one!

Anyway Ive got a little note pattern going but how do i select the note length? So say Ive got a pad and i want to select how long the note is held down for without retriggering it how would I do that? Surely its not lots of slides is it?

Nope, luckily it’s not slides. If you go into the note menu, between the arp and OSC 1 on the top row you’ll see the LGN (length) pot.

turning it will set all notes for that track, if you want to change individual notes you can via PLocks.

experiment with different lengths, it’ll show you values for 1/8 1/4 1/2. A whole bar is 16 (Just looking at the patch I’m working on, but it has a lot of chorus/reverb so it may not be)

hit the “note” button located right below the “G-knob” and the “C-knob” will adjust the “len” parameter which is visible on the screen. hope this helps.
