Yes, you are clear and right. I checked the manual and the T1 really and definitly restrain the notes it plays to the entered notes of the scale. No way to play a whole scale by transposing root note.
Honestly I want to consider one. I gotta let off the GAS, but I’m feeling like a sequencer like this is a good compromise.
That’s very useful! You can do that on the Deluge and it is nice to get surprising melodies as you transpose through the scale. Thanks for the descriptions, I’m very close to getting a used T-1 but the prices are still nice and high. Good sign that people aren’t selling theirs
It’s the most playable sequencer I’ve ever used. When you get going and familiar with everything it is best described as fast and fun. It is definitely more geared toward electronic music but I think with some clever routing it can do a lot more. Personal fave moves…
- Sending multiple tracks to the same midi output all at different rates / lengths etc.
- Sending the output of one track into another to affect/influence the notes being generated
- Going ham by making a deliberately busy pattern, randomizing notes, velocity, sustain etc. and then stripping most out of it with the probability (which can be locked so it always repeats). And then switching random to 100% and back to 0% to re-roll the dice.
I find these methods take it into less ‘euclidean’ sounding places. I’m sure there are many more tricks which can be tailored to your flow, it’s very open ended.
And at the very least, the T1 is a great way to get raw Midi into a DAW for further refinement and sculpting.
I’m having trouble understanding how these banks work? They don’t change when selecting different bank very confusing! Anyone able to shed some light? I’ve read the manual and watched the videos still not understanding the concept here
A different bank gets only selected, when a Pattern is selected inside the bank.
To select/view a Pattern without queueing it for playback: Hold CTRL while selecting the Pattern.
Thank you! I will refer to this when next fire it up. Pretty confusing compared to elektron banks
But isn’t it actually the same behaviour?
On A4/AR when holding/tapping Bank, it only becomes active when selecting a Pattern inside. If none is selected it returns/stays at the current Bank.
Actually Yes you are right, just seems different on T1
maybe because lack of screen.
There also the saving of banks with different colour pads I haven’t got my head around yet and why you need this
Hello everyone,
Do you know if Torso is on holiday?
I’ve been waiting two weeks for help and an answer to my T-1 problem. I’ve written to support and also described my problem in the Discord channel.
Thank you for help and answer.
@waldemaR
Replied on Discord.
I’m surprised.
I just received an email saying that there is a new update for the S-4.
I thought Torso was working on an update for the T-1.
The update is mainly small fixes to the recent major one, nbd.
Bought it, got it and I’m already liking how this could help potentially fill in either creative block and/or provide a decent backing or rhythm. I shouldn’t treat it as a magic bullet, but still, a nice addition to my setup.
In the past when changing patterns externally via program change the T1 didn’t switch the view to the now active pattern. Is this still the case?
The speed with which I opened my Discord app when I saw there was a notification form Torso only to see that it’s them announcing a white S4 is genuinely embarrassing. I hate to be “that guy” but starting to think we will never be getting an update on this machine and it is what it is (which is great, not that i’m complaining, it just would be nice to back up projects).
Well they said it’s gonna be hopefully this year, so I guess January February
I’d love them to fix bugs like usb midi sync ![]()
usb midi sync works for me no problem.
For me when sending clock via usb to my push 3 9/10 times it doesn’t work, it starts to feedback loop itself and increases until 999 bpm. It works via normal midi ni problem ![]()
There is a lot of similar feedback on the internet, so I don’t think I am alone in this.
Ah ok, I just use it sync Cubase and it works fine.
