Ok i might be buying one of these now…
Thank you.
For anyone who’s using the 2.0 beta, can the scene change be quantised to change at the end of the bar or is it immediate?
Yeah, the 2.0 video finally put me over the edge. I just picked one up at perfect circuit. They had a super booth coupon for 10% off.
Can this machine slice samples? Or only plays them from start to finish?
Yes you can
You can select zones, loop them with crossfades.
Setting a scene per slice maybe ?
You can also sort of get there by modulating the start point using multiple square wave lfos. It’s definitely not perfect, so hopefully slicing will come eventually. I’m pretty sure Torso has said that they’ll be adding it in the future so🤞
Anybody know when this one is coming? Looks beautiful.
i’ve been waiting for the grey one, i knew it was coming!
apparently Q4 according to discord
Like a lot of early adopters I’ve been a bit frustrated waiting for this to mature. But I have to say fro.m thst superbooth video the update looks incredible.
Is there now an option to time stretch when in poly mode by any chance? So the sample doesn’t slow down / speed up etc when played in different keys?
So now the software seems close to “finished”, are there any plans for better builds with regards to the encoders etc? Are the new colour versions going to be the same hardware?
My main rotary knob works randomly. It doesn’t scroll properly. 10/10 contact support from Torso. They answered within hours. They said to me that is a faulty unit and needs to be replaced. I bought it from Thomann and they want to fix it so I sent it to Thomann and said them the answer from Torso. But they want to fix it. Hope it won’t be too much time.
I straight up don’t know if people have significantly different units from mine or what, but my encoders turn and subsequently change the values appropriately which is all I need them to do.
They are a bit “looser” than my OT2, but nothing to really complain about.
Fortunately my unit doesn’t exhibit any skipping with the encoders, I think it’s more of a QC issue than the encoders themselves.
Mine seems fine too, second batch I think it was. Sporadically a little skip, but it doesn’t seem to be the encoder, more a software tuning thing (which I think they acknowledged).
I was offered a fix too but I refused it and opted for a refund.
If you buy a new product and it is still under warranty the manufacturer should replace or refund it within the warranty period; and I had my unit for just 2 weeks.
Torso wanted to replace the unit, but it seems that it is under the warranty of Thomann and they don’t offer me a replacement. They offer me a fix of the knob. Maybe they’ll speak with torso about the problem and realise that it won’t be fixed so easily and I need a replacement unit. Anyway, I want a fully functional unit. My was 100% functional but without the main knob I can’t rename projects and set tempo properly. I hope it wil be fixed soon
Has anyone of you got an invitation to the beta since the Superbooth announcement for 2.0?
I suppose you could ask them on discord about QC for the encoders.
Encoders will always have the possibility of having a wonky encoder from the fabricator, I’m going to be replacing a few volume knobs in my Digitone Keys and Digitakt 2 this week.
I don’t honestly know if there’s any standard design that rules them out, but definitely it would be nice to have them caught at an earlier stage or process.
I got it, but not via E-Mail or any message. Just check the torso discord server for the closed-beta community tab on the left. And you are in.
Andre.
