of course! the only machine I haven’t owned! ![]()
What’s that square hole above the SD card? New proprietary power plug?
This part of the story doesn’t make sense!
Looks like a Kensington lock.
Looked to me like he was a third party who saw it on a site for sale, and just said it had already been sold.
yep, overall very weird interaction
holy shit. Watching very very intently.
dunno, that taobao site impossible to search without account, and it needs phone verification plus everything in chinese, so couldn’t find that listing… no idea who he is and why he had pics of two units
that said, the post wasn’t deleted, he wasn’t banned, he continued to add pics afterwards plus the pcb, so dunno what to think about all of that… in theory it might be a scam, just a clone someone made similar to the aliexpress clones, but dunno…
that “Engine Inactive” screen, I feel like I’ve seen it before somewhere… that felt weird af…
I guess if they’re going through the trouble of picking up the C standard, then it makes sense to have both as C
And i guess it would look weird and be confusing like with the Korg kaoss thing they did
No way this is a DN replacement. This is a workstation! Drums, samples, synths, FX, the kitchen sink basically. It’s gonna be hella costly!
Looks great btw. No way a fake either. This is real!
Another funky oddity with this. He said it sold but had photos of two units. Looks real but the story is a bit wonky!
A pre-production unit can’t just be sold. I can’t imagine that Elektron would sell any of their prototypes.
it might be that he is a worker, had older pics from earlier prototype, who knows…
To be fair, this is how leaks almost always go. You never see leaks without at least a few weird details / red flags. We’ll never know until we know, you know?
As for me, I’d rather not have known to begin with!
The fact that the pics are still up is also super strange! Didn’t they have a melt down when DT2 was leaked?
Is this for real???
Is this a synthesizer, a drumsynth and a sampler in one box???
And how much good did that do them? Once the information is out there, you can fight it or embrace it, but fighting the spread of information on the Internet is a losing battle.
I was thinking about this all along, guess they’ve learned from that, once it’s out - there’s no way to stop information! and most importantly, it most likely won’t hurt sales either
I don’t see PARAMETER SLIDES.
