Tonverk speculations

More flags up in here than an Olympics opening ceremony.

Cuckoogate all over again

I am still speculating! Really hoping it’s a synth with the “machine” paradigm
Hoping as they iron out stuff on this new OS for DT2 they are still in fact cooking whatever this thing is

USD 1000 Digitone with:

64 polyphony
12 to 16 tracks
White screen
Various digital synthesis methods (fm, waves, etc.)
Same sequencer tricks and features as DT2.
FX block à lá Syntakt
3 lfo’s but…

But No:
…but no envelopes.
Neighbor tracks for stacking
FX track for parameter locking
Multiple outputs (L and R only)
Real kits
External audio processing
CV shenanigans
Analog components (maybe some kind of master drive)

Source: just look at current Elektron portfolio.

It’ll probably still be awhile if anything materializes. The US trademark still hasn’t been registered, but the EU one was registered on June 11th.

If it’s anything to base with comparison:

  • Syntakt trademark was filed on July 12th, 2021
  • Trademark was registered on September 14th, 2021
  • Syntakt launch April 21st, 2022

From initial filing to release that’s a span of about 9 months. So could put launch around Dec - February 2025 (or when/if it’s done).

This seems the most likely. Digitone FM, virtual analog and wavetables
They will probably add mod machines as well, instead of only LFO we could probably have envelopes as well

bless for doing the work I was not ever going to do :call_me_hand:

December, February, maybe March April is good because it leaves time for a long overdue Syntakt update

It’ll come with legacy machines alongside a legacy machines update for the Syntakt. Right? Riiiiiiight.

Healthy from time to time.

Did you have to beat them off with a stick? A phrase repeated by my grandma in the 80s. Which, now that I think about it, was raunchier than she probably intended. Ah, youth.
