I hope this isn’t limited to only 8 tracks, given the Digitakt II and Digitone II each have 16 tracks.
I’ve spent the last week building wavetables and oscillator chains for my DT2. Can’t wait to load those puppies up in a Tonverk
The subtrack button replaced the “drum tracks” button from the prototype. I think it’s 8 main tracks that each house 8 subtracks. Great for drums, but also hints at independent sequencer tracks for polyphonic sounds.

This is a machine ready for adventure: an instrument that drives you to extraordinary music making and limitless sound research. Tonverk is both a groundbreaking scout and a wonderful maze to immerse yourself in - with a variety of ways to capture, edit, and route your sound.
It can be:
… your versatile polyphonic sampler.
… your routing playground.
… your FX mixer.
… your machine with tracks within tracks.
… your multitonal sound factory.
Tonverk offers eight audio tracks that can be used differently depending on your creative goal. In addition, there are four bus tracks, three send tracks and a mix track - perfect for flexible routing and a wealth of fresh effect sounds that you can use anywhere in the device. This opens a door to fantastic fun and boundless experiments. And as with any adventure, the beginning is just a foretaste of what’s yet to come.
Tonverk offers a wide selection of effects - including many new features. Lots of modulation, extensive routing options (internal and external) and two types of sampling:
Recorder – for direct audio sampling, external or internal
Auto Sampler – use MIDI to automatically multisample your favorite instruments
In addition, there are numerous other features, including the proven Elektron workflow optimizations.
Machines per audio track:
SINGLE PLAYER
Play individual WAV files (mono or stereo) polyphonically. Adjust playback behavior, set loop points, and use crossfade for seamless looping - and much more.
MULTI PLAYER
Download a multi-sampled instrument from the Tonverk library and play it polyphonic. With the Auto Sampler you can also create your own multisamples.
SUBTRACKS
Complete a track with 8 monophonic, multitimbral subtracks - each with its own sample, sequencer and individual parameters. 8-in-1!
MIDI
Consip the chosen track to a MIDI track.
Maybe it’s out VERY soon if it’s appearing on retailer websites already. Like tomorrow!!!
So…. Will I even need my DT2 if I buy this?
I guess two samplers are better than one
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Knowing Elektron, they won’t step on the DT2s toes too much.
I’m curious about how MIDI sequencing will work with this? I wonder if we’ll be able to sequence two separate 6-voice synths from the subtracks of different tracks.
Will it be sans parameter slides? That would be classic Elektron move.
oh damn this looks cool
Does anyone know what modulation curve means
4 outs for my ot’s 4 ins. Perfect.
More samplers is never a bad thing. The leaked press blurb doesn’t say anything about slice or grid machines which are key to what I love about DT2
Someone listed the specs and features on the Elektron subReddit.

I’m imagining something like the lfo designer from OT. A triggerable/loopable smooth automation curve
I wonder if it will have record trigs for live looping.
Edited typo - trugs to trigs.

Shit I’m still hoping for polyphony on the DT2 ![]()
i was never convinced this thing was a “Synth”
Looks like i was pretty close the real machine
