Doesn’t work for me.
It just plays the currently selected preset, not the new one highlighted in the list.

Previewing presets does not work.
Moreover, hitting FUNC+YES, as the manual suggest, simply loads the highlighted preset.
Previewing samples, multi player instruments, subtracks, etc. works fine.
Preset preview not functioning has also been mentioned by loopop in his review.
Confirming. Sync is just unusable right now
Also, multitrack instruments are not responding to the internal sequencer velocity. They do when sequencing externally, though
Still doesnt explain fact why it switches to hard right channel only. Anyway its gone back now. Second time I have had a bad Elektron device, had a brand new Digitakt with no content on the drive.
I as well have the problem with duplicate kits/kits not loading in subtracks. 056 Tight kit and 057 B4U kit are the same.
Can you please give more information about the setup (cables, hub, machines and computer involved?) and how you determine the sync is off, exactly?
Is it a constant offset on the start and machines stay in sync, or they start together and tempo varies from one to the other?
And can you load stereo samples?
I made SubTrack DrumSets on my PC yesterday, I’ve used stereo samples and it played back in stereo on the TV. It’s awesome! However, using mono samples should come out of both channels, of course.
The last time something came out of just one channel, my audio cable was broken ![]()
The plot thickens — timing seems fine if the Tonverk is master and the slave’s audio is routed through its input. There’s a delay, but it appears to be compensated when you run the audio back through the Tonverk… or so it seems.
This is great news if true. I was wondering about how things would line up when you do something like that, ie. when combining drums from internal and external sources, they need to remain in tight sync for best results.
Obviously, this shouldnt pose a problem when using the analogue inputs, but might be a problem when using the USB input
Yes; it is very weird that we haven’t noted something like this, I have tested both with USB and MIDI, both as master and slave, but haven’t observed delays or desynchronization (been using a MioXL as a USB hub).
Let me know if you manage to isolate a case that can be reproduced!
I have a lot of Elektron devices and have never had any sync problems.
Here I have Digitakt2 as master and Tonverk as slave.
Result: 20ms latency
(The Digitakt track has two hi-hats on the offbeat so that I can identify them afterwards.
I first split the devices to the right/left.
In the end, both audio signals run centered.)
Please let this be my mistake! Or let there be an update in the next 25 days.
The device is unusable like this!
See my remarks above:
I must say that this Tonverk feels more buggy than previous releases, though I trust them to get this to a stable version soon. A few things I noticed:
I disagree. In this regard, DT OG was a disaster.
But unless you have years of testing, you can’t beat thousands of betatesters.
So it is understandable, on such a complex machine with a brand new architecture and codebase, to encounter bugs.
Rest assured they will be corrected soon enough.
If you manage to give a way to replicate them, this would help a lot, of course.
is this midi latency or audio?
is this just two hats coming from each machine being recorded into a daw, or is the audio routing involved also?
thats suspiciously close to the overbridge latency
Sure! I’ve tried different combinations:
No computer involved, no USB connected.
In all cases, Tonverk is the only device struggling to keep up with the MIDI clock. You can tell either by opening the Tempo screen and observing the tempo floating ±0.4 BPM (sometimes even more) or just by listening—the unexpected “swing” is clearly audible.
After some time (~10 minutes or so), it goes completely off-sync. Stop/Start fixes it, but this is not particularly handy in a live situation, as you can imagine.
I can also confirm the delay in audio routed through the Tonverk (a constant one in this case)—the Octatrack didn’t have this issue, and I’ve double-checked.
