Tonverk: bug reports

I can confirm this - I currently have two Multi Player instruments stored that I autosampled, and when previewing these they sound very different from the actual instrument samples - but after loading they sound just fine.

I confirm this, both UNDO and REDO buttons do nothing.

  1. KEY COMBINATIONS
    PRESET/SAMPLE PREVIEW
[FUNC] + [YES] (In the PRESET LOAD section of the PRESET/PROJECT menu) previews the highlighted preset.

This does not work for me - highlighting any preset in the list and pressing [FUNC] + [YES] does not produce any sound and as soon as the [YES] button is released the preset is loaded to the track.

Has anyone had any success with .sfz support? Heard some rumors that it should work tho it did not work for me. TV recognizes it but shows an error when loading the instrument.

Im creating a new Subtracks kit and every time I move away from it the envelope settings appear to reset.

EDIT: This is not a thing, I didn’t realise every Subtrack has its own envelope.

Hang in there everyone the Elektron Elves will resolve stuff, I have complete faith in them.

I’ve never experienced this.
We have discovered our fair share, and every new firmware got its load of new bugs.
If you “don’t understand” but are really willing to, you have to be conscious that there are so many actions on this machine, and so many paths before that set a context for a bug, that it is naive to think beta testing can detect every hidden corner.
When thousands of new users, with each their own way of using the machine, some new corners are revealed, it’s something we only can accept.

What was mentioned is a bug, hardware or software, and will of course be investigated if it is declared to Elektron support.
Like for every bug in this thread, if you manage to reproduce a bug please contact the support!

This thread is for reporting bugs, hence addressed to actual owners of the TV.
This thread is not meant not discuss if beta-testers or developers have had nice holidays (which I did, but without my TV because NDA).

I cannot help but to think some of these reports might just be user error… I recommend everyone read the manual, and make sure you internalize two key things:

  1. Learn to tell where your track focus is. It can be not only on a track, but also on a specific subtrack, supertrack of a subtrack, and so on… the on screen graphics subtly change depending on where you’re at

  2. Make sure you dont have PERFORMANCE MODE on by accident. Performance mode doesnt retain any parameter changes if you change to another pattern or power cycle the unit

Just tried to set probability on one subtrack (closed hi-hats) and Not NEI on the next subtrack, hoping that the latter would only trigger when the former didn’t. This doesn’t seem to be working.

Suppose this could be a feature request, depending upon the internal architecture of subtracks.

Aren’t subtracks mono?

The timing on the TV is unacceptable — the sync is completely off with any other gear, whether used as master or slave. This is a serious flaw. Unless it’s fixed quickly, expect a flood of returns.

I seem to remember this sort of issues with most digis on release day… always turned out okay in the end. Will early adopters be patient enough, remains to be seen…

Do you have a TV? Can you make a video of it? Or are you just summarizing what you’ve heard elsewhere?

Yes, Arrived yesterday. Was pleased with it until I used it with anything else. Tried multiple scenarios and the timing is always way off.

same here, very very unstable sync

As both midi master and slave, or just one way?

First it was controlled by OT and then by the sound interface — both times bpm jumped up and down randomly resulting in some warped sounds (like an old tape flutter). It appears even more often when I turn any knobs on TV

I have a pattern with a looping part, triggered by a single trig every 16, LFOs on loop start and end. if I go into Perform mode it seems to stop looping after a while. It plays fine if I use memorize/recall instead. Can share the pattern if useful

Good catch! This is an error in the manual. Preset preview is currently not implemented.
