I love how the ST’s master filter and overdrive crunch up my DT. Hope you have a blast with it.

Guyz , small question about the digitone 2 / digitakt 2 : when you route tracks via usb , overbridege you get sperate tracks , but what about the send , is there an option to get tracks + sends on each tracks or FX are on diff tracks (like a bus ) in overbridge (forcing you to bounce each track soloed with fx track to get the track +fx alone) ?

The FX sends of all DT/DN’s Audio Tracks are on the same Audio Track.

So if i bounce my snare with send of reverb , i will get the reverb on the snare track bounced with it ? on syntakt all track are dry … and FX are alone on their tracks … you sure ?
Or you 're confirming what i said ? (when you say on the same track you mean same track as source or on one track dedicated to fx )
If so , do we get a reverb track , delay , chorus ect … or on FX track with all …
What about the comp ?

No. Dry Snare on the Snare Audio Track and the FXs on the Send Audio Track.

Did I miss this somehow? What was the update for the original Digitakt on July 9th?

Thks so it’s gonna be the old scholl way : solo track on digi and bounce , still no solo on those boxes .? (first thing i was like wtf ? )

Yes. If you want to record the Track with its FXs at the same time, you can always use the Master Track (muting all the other Tracks).

Ah, found it.

Wjhat about the bit crush and SR , those are insert right ?
And the comp , there’s a comp track ?

EDit ok i just installed the Digitakt 2 overbidge and opened it , seems like Chorus / Delay / Reverb have their tracks
Compression is main (with a sub stage to chose track impacted by it or not) , like syntakt FX track
And Bitcrush and SR are insert ,
Am i correct ?

Yes.

Maybe you could start your own thread called “How to use a syntakt?”

Haven’t had an awful lot of time to play this weekend, still figuring out the best way to connect everything up.

I’m leaning towards audio goes External->Syntakt->Digitakt.

And MIDI goes Syntakt->Digitakt->External

Still not 100% decided though. :upside_down_face:

I know how to use it im asking stuff about digitakt and digitone suince i consider those to be used with syntakt …

There’s a syntakt in there, somewhere.

@jeffroman nice!

What is your opinion about MicroFreak?

I love it but desperately wish they’d make a desktop module sized minifreak and keep the arp and sequencer controls on the panel instead. The keyboard was very fucky until I did a fw rollback and reinstall of the newest fw and now it’s very fun to play, but I prefer using my keystep and routing for all synths so it’s kinda wasted space. Basically the main complaints I have about micro freak are things minifreak fixed (effects onboard and can pass input audio through filters and granular machine) but microfreak just gets deeper and deeper as you start learning it. Really amazing value for how much versatility you get, though microfreak benefits a lot from a multi effects pedal since it doesn’t even have reverb. If minifreak didn’t require another 37 key box on the rack or I had more space I’d upgrade to that to get MORE FREAK.

If I was going to go jam with someone and needed it to be small I’d probably bring an elektron or sonicware groovebox (syntakt most likely) the microfreak, and a multieffects and that would be an extremely full synthesis rig all on its own. I’ve had a lot of fun sessions with that sort of rig and never felt limited. That plus my bento would be pretty much gig ready as far as sonic and performance capability imo.

Hi there! I see you have some experience in making AIRA line and Syntakt work together.

I have Syntakt and Roland J-6. My idea was to use J-6 as one of the “machines”: live record midi from J-6 to a track on Syntakt, then playback the sequence from Syntakt triggering J-6 while adding more sounds and tracks on Syntakt.
To put it short: play J-6, record on Syntakt, then playback J-6 from Syntakt.

But I can’t figure out how to set up MIDI settings for this flow to work. Is it even possible?

I connected it via midi in and midi out + external in. Assigned MIDI machine to Track 1 CH1, but when I press a key on the J-6 – the Syntakt freaks out, plays all tracks and sounds and J-6 stops responding, until rebooting it.

you got a midi feedbackloop. check out if you can disable midi local control or something like that on the j-6
