Ive been trying to record 2 stereo tracks from a live set in ableton from the octatrack and machinedrum. I dont really need any sync but im getting irratated that the two machines dont match up when set to the same bpm. I normally position beat 1 to the ableton grid and after 5 minuites the oct is running behind ablt. It also works the other way round, when trying to make loops and chains in ableton to drop over to the oct and slice up, the slicing pionts do not match up and I have to dive in and fix them. Easy for beats not so easy for vocs ect…This is frustrating…
What are your sync settings in Live? What MIDI interface?
