It’s been ten years since I bought my first Monomachine. So much has changed since then! Elektron has taken over the world
I used to talk to Ryan (Actuel) at work about how we wished Elektron would make a sampler and get into analog machines. We were wrong, however, in our first prediction: the first post Machinedrum-UW machine would be a dedicated effects box.
I know that some of you here now were around back then.
Geeze, its been 10 years already? I remember drooling over a Sidstation right before they sold out forever. I remember when I scored my first Elektron box, a Machinedrum SPS-1 UW, although it was defective on arrival, the defect actually worked in my favor. I bought it a week before the MKII’s were announced, and because I was midway into an RMA I was able to exchange it for a MKII and a partial refund.
I miss the highly active science labs from back then, I miss how I used to bombard JSRockit with a million questions.
Its wild when you think about it, how most of the speculation of where Elektron would go, were either way off or pinpoint accurate.
