Don’t get me wrong. This is not a joke answer. Compiling and sequencing an album is hard work, been there done that - twice. A lot of work goes into the order of songs etc. I’m an album kind of guy, I mostly listen to whole albums through, I don’t care much for playlists and such.
Reading the title, the first absolutely perfect album I thought of, was the one in the photo. It was a lucky accident that it happened to be excactly 10 tracks long.
Extra points for the elektronaut who knows which album it is without using google.
…this is 21st century…waaaay tooooo many options by now, to nail it down to 10…
sorrrrry…but as sad as truu…
Mr Bungle - California
I knew it would be you!
So did I
A lotta Mike Patton up in here…
Short answer: Kid A
Long answer: This will take a while to make up my mind. 10 Tracks is hard to choose
Should have stopped at Perfect 10. Theres quite a few.
To be fair, there’s a lot of Mike Patton out there.
Right now today? The Doors - “The Doors” … sorry not sorry
I’ve heard a lot of takes on “retro” production over the last ~25 years, and this is still my favorite.
For some reason I always think of Ween’s White Pepper of as a kind of a “sister album” for California. I guess they came out close to each other and had a similar all white artwork, but there’s something else in their DNA that they seem to share. The Ween -album is maybe more in the style of Thin Lizzy but still.
Separated at birth. Highly recommended. Unfortunately it has 12 tracks.
This is a difficult exercise, as a compilation would change day by day… and most of my favorite albums are usually 12 or more tracks. This one however is one of my all-time faves and happens to be exactly ten…
Here’s another fave of mine… 13 tracks, but there’s about 3 I could take or leave so maybe that counts.
Rachmaninoff - Piano Concerto No. 2, Op. 18 Mov I
Jan Jelinek - Tendency
Brian Eno - 1/1
Against All Logic - You Are Going To Love Me And Scream
Herbie Hancock - Sly
Nina Simone - Sinnerman
Radiohead - How to Disappear Completely
Boards Of Canada - Olson (did a cover of this ,olson found a piano | João Mcp)
Ben Lukas Boysen - Only in the Dark
Águas de Março - Tom Jobim
