i take those little packets of salt from fast food restaurants and put them between my cheeks and gums like a pouch of chewing tobacco
Im 39 and cant drive
I had something sliding down the wall of my shower earlier too…
I’m not embarrassed though, the vicar said it was quite normal.

You’re far from alone on this one. I have to own up to exactly this behavior, too. Musty towels just don’t agree with my nose, I guess.
Anton Chekhov even wrote this obsession into a character from Three Sisters (Solyony)… Well, only slightly similar.
Solid topic–cheers!
After 5 years of living in my place, I finally realised I could shuffle some cabinets and stuff around and fit my drum kit in one side of the room and leave it set up.
Previously the kit took up so much space the room it made the room unusable. So I either had to pack the kit up after every session, or just be a lazy twat and just not set it up.
Now I have my drums set up permanently, I can play them whenever I want, plenty of room to move around and keep the functionality of my space
How did I not realise this 5 years ago? Twat.
My middle name is Jude. As in “Hey”.
It took me decades to understand that a conversation means you’d better listen to what the other has to say.
Bonus point if you can even remember it.
It took me decades to understand that when someone says “how are you doing?” that they don’t actually give a shit how you’re doing, they’re just being polite and all they want to hear is “good, how are you?”.
Even though I know this too, I still give them an honest reply.
Moving to the Nordics, when you ask that question here people take you seriously and answer. It took me a while to get used to it, but now that I know, I still ask anyway because it makes me genuinely happy when my friends tell me how they’re doing honestly.
I generally wish that people spoke a little more clearly as to what they think and feel, but then sometimes something will happen which makes me glad that they don’t, and I suppose that the tradeoff of generally vague / unclear communication and guessing games may or may not be worth it to offset those specific times, at least when taken in the grand scheme of things.
I talk to my toes like children while i am cutting my toenails
If I step on a crack with one foot, I need to step on a similar crack in a similar way with the other foot…
I have a Love, Actually tattoo.
jk I’m not embarrassed about it
I talk to my children while cutting my toenails!
I spent most of my life awkwardly answering “hi how are you?” with the same disingenuous question smh.
You feel dumb until you come to the universal realization they don’t care what you say back. Any acknowledgment is acceptable. These days I just nod 95% of the time.
Stop leaving your laundry in the washing machine for so long people, good lord lol.
Here we don’t even say the whole thing.
We just say “howzit”
It’s both a question and a response to the same question.
My favorite response to “how are you doing?” is, “I’m glad you asked!” It sets up the expectation that they’re in for way more than they anticipated, but I don’t follow up with anything, just leave ‘em hanging and move on.
