Things to see and do in Stockholm

I’m visiting Stockholm in a few weeks and am wondering if anyone has any recommended things to see or do. I’m interested in around the fringe or obscure things. It could be music centric, but also just about anything, like an awesome place to get really good coffee, or a nice beach to swim at. As an example, when I was living in Hokkaido, Japan, I found an amazing record shop, and it was there that I found out about music shows and other creative happenings. It also led me to a coffee shop that also had a design presentation of furniture made entirely out of styrofoam. I’m more interested in that kind of stuff rather than tourist attractions. Any recommendations? Many thanks in advance.

I live in Stockholm. PM me when you get here if you’re interested in raves/small forest open airs (techno). They’re great in Stockholm., if you can find the right ones.

A nice place to try out old (and new) synth gear is JAM Syntotek (http://www.jam.se/butik/syntotek/)

Thanks everyone! Both of these sound like possible options. JAM Synotek looks like a fun a bike trip, and maybe explore areas around it in the process. Small forest open airs is an amazing sounding description too, though I may have to work a little to persuade my traveling compadres.

Thanks again. I’m going to continue to explore the options, but this is a great start.

Will be around Stockholm until 11th August. Does anyone know of any live electronic gigs around town or other meets with Elektron gear.

damn. Now I want to find out about the original poster’s trip.

Hej Buzz, I can recommend you to visit Trädgården www.tradgarden.com while you are in Stockholm, a good outdoor club that offers good techno and electro DJs set.

I don’t know of any electro gig spots but if you find any tips I am interested too
