The Woovebox - a tiny and cheap but ridiculously powerful groovebox

Found this in reddid but I think it isn’t what I want to do.

I also want to, that while a sequence is playing, pressing write to input steps and that these steps has no sound ( sorry for my English)

Would you be able to explain the use case for me?
Thank you!

Yes, of course .

You are in a live performance in live mode on woovevox. With a long press you can go to sequence mode without stop the sequence to input notes. Then, you want to input some notes on the fly, but you don’t need to hear these notes because you already know that you are on scale, so you simply want to erase some notes and input again some random notes within the scale.

As far as I know, if you are in sequencer mode and want to choose a specific note, you need to press that button note to select it. So the preview note will sound and you don’t want to do it. Maybe there is a way to overcome that (not preview sound, just input some notes to make a different sequence on the fly).

Thank you.

Now, on Sequoia 15.2 and I just updated to 15.3, cannot update firmware on either. As soon as it starts transferring, the Mac drops the connection (the bluetooth disconnect button changes to connect, since it’s disconnected) so I now have the same issue.

But that’s ok. I’ll update on what works. Manual sysex sent via Sysex Libratian fails, same with browser with manual chunk size. So it’s a macOS issue, unless it’s a Woovebox low power level dropout or something, doubt it but leaving on charge for a bit just in case.

I appreciate the heads-up! Just maddening… :frowning:

Is update over bluetooth the only way at the moment? If i remember correctly, the usb-c port is been setup only for charging? Or is there any possibility there?

I also had to upgrade macos for security reasons. Also dont have androids, windows or linux in house :upside_down_face:.

Data transfer to your Woovebox is via MIDI over BLE only at the moment. USB-C is purely providing power - there is no circuitry or chip capability for acting as a USB peripheral.

I just uploaded a quick reference guide, including all the 4x4 parameter pages with labels and short description.

Hey, wild! Just skimmed it. This looks really good. I know synthesis, and daws, but do find myself getting a bit lost with the Woovebox at times. This should really help while I get used to it, thanks

Hi all,

The next big firmware development (biggest yet) is slowly coming to a close and this track has been one of my favourite development “torture” tracks/challenges;

Haddaway - What Is Love (Woovebox Remake).

It’s the entire song, with all elements accounted for, including vocal lines. Note that there’s really nothing about this track you couldn’t do with the current available firmware (except for improved sound quality  ). It’s been my sanity/bug regression checker.

As usual, everything is 100% synthesized in real-time from scratch. Strictly no samples were used (even though in the original, the organ is a heavily layered sample).

Audio came straight from Wooveconnect.

.SYX will be made available when the new firmware is released (please bear with me on that one).
