Here in the UK we’re entering that liminal time where the days are getting shorter and it’s got me in the mood for music that complements the long, dark nights. Imo electronic music is absolutely the best nocturnal music. I’m not sure exactly how to pin down what makes a track sound nocturnal but it’s got to be something you’d play at 2am on an empty highway. Maybe something with a bit of space, perhaps enveloping or bleak or hypnotic or a bit out there, there’s just a certain feel that sits right with the late night.
