The Man from Mo' Wax

I love both. Entroducing is still a major influence.
I also love a lot of trip hop, though it’s true that there is a lot of trivial easy listening stuff under the banner of downtempo/triphop/chillout

Looks interesting. I remember a 3 tape Cream compilation he did in the mid 90’s. it was great! Lots of tracks that other people weren’t really playing. It came out at the same time as the Coldcut Journeys By DJ mix (also amazing). Good times.

FabricLive.01 by Lavelle is still great. Holds a special place in my heart.

Absolute legends.

two compilations that heavily influenced me back in the days!!!

@LBWG Great, great mix. Though worth noting that the Psychonauts actually mixed the records at his direction… another case of Lavelle’s curatorial and marketing skills being stronger than his musical ability.

And scratch perverts mixed his uncle live shows

Maybe that was mentioned?

Yes indeed! Well remembered.

that was a common attitude towards that culture and the roots that it was associated to…Mo "wax and Shadow made it accessible and ok for folks…Mo’wax in the 90s was the hot label for the record diggers and acid jazz and rare groovers. Lot’s of funky parties and fantastic talents. Glad was able to have a little taste of it…I was more into techno, house and dub.
