Yes, everything is fine. I’m having a polysomnography, which measures my sleep quality and the number of apneas per night.
I was even allowed to sniff a little ether while the electrodes were being placed…
I didn’t take any vaporizer; the nurse just told me that it wouldn’t have been a problem.
I’m good, but thanks! This place is so nice.
Every few years I need to ctrl-alt-del my immune system to keep it from going rogue on me again and producing weird antibodies. So this is maintenance.
It does mean that I had to give up my Gotham FC seat for the summer and I can’t go to any indoor music for a while, even w a mask. So that sucks.
I’m still seeing Penn & Teller when they come to town, though, fuck it. 50th anniversary tour!
Okay, that’s reassuring. I was worried about this equipment.
Patience . The worst part is that you can’t vape.
Whenever I get an echocardiogram(?) I ask if I can keep the little electode things to use in mixed media/collages. They say yes about 1/4 the time.
edit: turns out I meant electrocardiogram
I had my first echocardiogram a while back. Seeing my heart there on the screen, from all angles and all chambers opening and closing was profoundly moving to me and I found myself weeping while it was happening. They had some body there, a student or someone who was training/observing. They asked the technician if it was common for folks to cry while receiving one and the tech kindly replied “it happens from time to time”.
It was a powerful experience for me. I’d gone into AFib several months before and we hadn’t yet concluded that my heart was in fact “beautiful” as my cardiologist put it. Perhaps I was bracing for them finding something wrong and it was the worry and anxiety that brought up the emotions, but I feel like it was just that fact that I was looking at my heart and knowing that that thing there is keeping me alive.
@simonbradford I’m envious of your ether huffing. I enjoy partially anesthetized states.
@KingDuppy glad to hear your reboot went well. Glad you’re around.
It’s my lungs that did this to me.
I smoked hash with tobacco in industrial quantities between the ages of 14 and 39.
At the beginning of a treatment involving a significant drop in my immunity, I had to have a lung x-ray to measure any possible deterioration during the process. I obviously expected bad results since I was shoveling in the tar.
A few bad nights before the exam.
The x-ray technician, extremely cold, told me that it was up to the doctor to do an assessment.
Many bad nights waiting for the results.
In the end, the doctor told me that my lungs were in perfect condition, worthy of an Olympic swimmer.
Huge relief.
My theory is that six years of vaporizing cleaned out both my lungs, because my breathing capacity was better every day after the switch. No medical proof, just a feeling, the doctor having no data on the practice of vaporizing.
Edit: between 14, not 24, and 39 years old…
On Vaping
Vaping has become my no. 1 consumption method by far! Cleaner, easier, more controllable, less contamination in the inhaled substances and consequent high, and so much tastier too
My Vestratto Anvil and MadHeaters Tempest are my go to vapes, though the Anvil provides just the most beautiful experience of them all. On the go it’ll be my Tinymight if I want to go into the deep end, or, if it needs to be stealthier, it’ll be the Pax 3 Plus. And if I want to explore the fabric of the cosmos, I’ll plug in my Vapvana Screwball through a nice Erle Waterpiece.
I cannot recommend vaping enough. And I’m super glad to read that it had such positive effects on your health also!
And more generally a Q to fellow elektronauts:
Anyone has any experience with pressing their own rosin? I’m thinking about getting a rosin press for home use, but not sure what plate size / tonnage of pressure / heat range / make & model to get.
Also if anyone knows, how much rosin can I expect from eg pressing 10g of medical? (10g is roughly the amount I aim to press at once). How long does that last / how many applications can I expect from that yield?
And is it even worth it? (My assumption is that yes, obviously :))
EDIT: I’m based in Europe (Germany) so if any of you have any recommendations I’d be happy to learn what they are
I’ve thought about getting the Black Leaf mini rosin press to experiment with, but it’ll never squeeze 10g at a time.
I feel like the bigger machines are very expensive, and I’m not a fan of heating the product before use.
Maybe one day, for science’s sake.
Where at now? Vancouver Island?
Yessir dear friend! We’re in Parksville.
Yes. And my recommendation is just find somewhere you can get 10g+ of distalate or live rosin, gets some terps, and just start filling you own carts.
