I really like the Digitakt and how it reopened my interest in the elektron gears. Had an Octatrack four years ago but sold it due to complexity.
Within a couple of months since acquiring the DT, I’ve bought the whole dark trinity, used and cheap (mk1s) but fairly new, and started to learn all of them with much more ease.
Have any of you started looking for additional Elektron gear?
I already had the black trinity + AH, but the DT has given me a new perspective on the others and has made me try out stuff that I hadn’t though of previously. Unfortunately the new buttons have also grown on me and I’m now eyeing the AR MK2. Furthermore, I’ve realized that while synthesis/sound design is fun, for me it’s also a sureshot way to get completely bogged down in details. When I just stick to samples I get stuff going in no time. The first few weeks with the DT I just used the factory content and I must say Elektron have done an amazing job with that. For all it’s shortcomings in a way for me it’s Elektron most genius machine so far both from a user experience and a marketing perspective.
It definitely seems to be the most user friendly box. the time it takes for me to start to get something solid going is about half an hour, which is great cause I typically get about an hours or so a night after work to sit at my synths.
