My immediate thought on how I’d do this, would be to do something similar to the way I’ve been doing it on the Tempest.
On there, I’ve been using the top row for main patterns/beats and the bottom row for alternate “fill” versions of the adjoining top row. Tempest has adjustable granularity and take-over modes for switching between patterns, which helps.
Haven’t tried similar on the Elektrons, but I guess I might reserve adjacent patterns for fills. Obviously, that cuts down the available patterns though.
Any mileage in this approach?
