I want a medium one that only talks about hip hop with spells and potions and taro cards.
Man this is great! Love the subtlety of the percussion and drums.
I guess the title of this thread is very much in line with traditional hiphop naming culture, although it would’ve been cool if we had artists called ‘Small L’ or ‘Medium Pun’ ![]()
there is a small professor

But agreed “Chino M” feels like a missed opportunity.
yes, i think so too, its a shame. same they hold back OT stuff from the DT. they should have just made an OT3, and not add even more products to their portfolio…just do one properly…
Nothing groundbreaking here, but for me these kind of basic videos are still really helpful:
And more goodies:
Here’s another good un…
Just realized this thread just had its fourth anniversary…
Congratulations to all of us!
Honestly, this thread has become one of my favorite online hangouts of all time.
You guys rock.
One love ![]()
Little beat I made while getting to know the MPC Live 3:
posted this one hella late last night, figured it’d belong over here too lol. the DT2 is unbelievable.
Here’s something from a project that I need to get back to working on. It’s a remix of Burgundy Whip by MED, Blu, and Madlib. I reworked the original melody and gave it more of like an 80s vibe. Let me know what you think.
Oh yeah, and I did everything in FL Studio.
The 80s vibe is dope ![]()
It sounds really great. Perhaps an extra element would be welcome from time to time to really make it take off.
A different vibe, darker. My latest beat with the M8.
wanted to do 12bit/8bit remixes of the new album since dj premier went all modern sounding on us…
super dope!
Great stuff from both of you!
@Doug if you want to keep that 80s vibe, maybe add some sort of subtle evolving/swelling Juno pad to keep it both mellow and 80s?
@Jord.Lim this has a very relaxed vibe. Maybe add some variations off the vocal sample? I could imagine some old movie dialogue playing over this
Yeah, you’re right.
I’m planning to build a vocal sample bank with dialogues, speeches, and stuff like that, just to have them ready to go. I usually feel too lazy to go hunting for samples while I’m in the middle of composing. I really need to do a massive sampling session for a few days.
I think I might have some stuff lying around. Will check later and can definitely share
Yeah, I know what you mean. I like the album but it’s super clean, which I have mixed feelings about. Yours came out great.
