The Behringer Gear-in-progress Thread

Now I expect the Hirotribe!

Honestly some really impressive design from B in distilling the classic Minimoog panel into these controls. Obviously you lose a lot of flexibility but the choice of what to keep, what to condense, and what to leave behind is quite smart and a lot of thought clearly went into it.

This could have very easily been a toy with an octave selector and a filter cutoff, or alternatively it could have been an impenetrably dense, budget-menu-diver where you have to keep the manual handy to page through a bunch of parameter codes on a two-digit number display… What they are shipping, however, actually looks fun, playable, and just enough to do a little sound design on the go.

Nice one, sounds great! Vdeo is worth watching even just for the music.

I’ll def order a hirotribe. Would have preferred a more full sized full featured one than a mini but Monotribe + USB MIDI is an easy yes IMO.

Sounds very nice and similar to its big brother. Very happy with my Model D.

BTW: If someone looks for Synthtribe 3.0.2 you still can find it at Pro-800 downloads:

Personally, I really expected the Hirotribe to be an expanded Monotribe, I’m really disappointed that they went with a mini after all that talk about fully realizing the potential with less budget constraints.

I am impressed with how Behringer has stepped up the affordable reissues of legendary groove boxes. I used to hate them but after @fatfreesprout kindly sent me the Behringer Spice synth and how cool it sounds, I have better view. I want the Behringer Linn Drum and BMX as vintage ones cost a fortune and also the Behringer recreation of Moog modulars look compelling as well.

So i’d expect the full announcement for this one very soon.

By the way, this is one of the synths that Behringer showed in that large leak back in mid May, that JooseBoks show up-thread here, giving a little more credence to all of that.

Fingers crossed they don’t mess it up again. The EMS was my first and #1 request when they started to ask which clone to do.

If there only was a Matrixbrute EMS version… that would be so good…

Maybe Bartek and Patrick are on vacation.

If this ends up being an RD-9 with user-replaceable samples and volume sliders it’s going to be awesome. I’m getting into my TR-8s now and realizing I prefer prebaked samples over any synth engine

I am still surprised they haven’t released a drum device in this form factor.

You’re right.

The Hiro Tribe Mini shown in JooseBoks’ leak post, is a groovebox, so it has both a synth part, and a drum part.

They have all of those drum boxes that are small and inexpensive, but not in the Mini format. The leak had several GIP drum boxes in a non-mini format, the RD-765 ( whatever that is ), the SP-1200, the Mini-Pops 7.

I also expect the JAM-PLAY, and the QT32-PLAY to have drums built in.
