All very good points. Behringer did not do shows in general, but like a year or so back they said something about maybe they would, or they were thinking about it or something.
All the shows have slightly different audiences and missions. NAMM certainly functions as you describe. But I think it has multiple functions, and the general public can attend, as well as press. It has a lot of instruments and commercial products, but there is definitely a place for electronic music products there too.
You may have noticed that Behringer has added at least one Super Partner in the US. I also think other parts of Music Tribe don’t sell through the Super Partner arrangement. So there is plenty for them to talk to retailers about.
Plus all this is open to change especially with Uli transitioning out of the Behringer leadership role. A show might be a good place to try out, and give some experience to some possible replacements.
I wonder about how Behringer / Music Tribe will change in the next few years as it matures ? I still think the Gear-In-Progress thread will remain active though.
I have no idea really if there will be anything to post in this thread, as a result of NAMM. Just hoping so.
