Man, just wanted to talk a bit about the analog filters in the AR. I was really surprised! They have blown me away. They are so flexible and dynamic. Really nice sounding, and creative! It’s easy to twist a couple knobs and just get some crazy filter FX going. Then of course add perf mode and your head will explode. The most pleasant surprise so far from the AR.

Agreed. Almost all sounds can benefit from the filters.

I find the filters a bit “tame” tbh, but they’re quite versatile. I guess the idea is to combine the filter with the drive to get more characterful filtering? Need to look into that a bit more…

The peak filter is my fave. Is it just me or is the resonance range excessively big on the LPF modes? Anything past 64 is ripping my head off!

No, me too. I think less is more when using the filters. One filter seems worthless, the band, I think. I just get nothing with it.

But overall, they can give a good flavor when dialed back, IMHO.

I like using the BP to remove the shriller frequencies of higher pitched sounds.

I sampled a bunch of favorite sounds from Reaktor Monark (minimoog emulation) with the filters open (with very little amp envelope) for about 3-4 seconds per patch.

Idea was to get some “movement” in the sample compared to a single cycle waveform and then apply the filter, envelopes and LFO in the AR. Results where a bit of a hit and miss but some turned out really great, mostly because of the good filter(s) in the AR.

The challenge for me was to get a 3-4 long sample with stuff like phasing and puls modulation going on to loop nicely. (Getting loop points not to click is one thing but getting a smooth transision when looping the entire file is another…)
