The all things MPC Thread (Part 4)

Exactly.:dart:

I haven’t dove into MPCe too much yet, but can you at least map the various plug in parameters to it?

That should be THE essential warning before checking out a shopping basket that contains a new synth!

If you could have saved the MV 8800 and SP-16 from an early death by buying soundpacks would you ? I know I would .

It’s the cost of doing business

tldr; no, I don’t think that’s possible.

I’ve seen user take the rubber coating completely off. Other than that it’s not if but rather when it starts to go.

Just our of curiosity, but where can you buy the pack für € 80,00 ? At the MPCStore I get them ā€œofferedā€ für € 119,00.

Akai rewarded 30% off code to users who participated in a survey. I’m not sure the link/survey is still active but I think it was @Poetic-Noise who shared it upthread somewhere

Ah, OK. I took part in the servey some time ago, but never got any further news on the subjekt.

How unfortunate. € 80,00 would have been a good price, € 119,00 I don’t know, if I willing to pay.

Does anyone know a good tutorial for loop mode on the Sample? I found one on Akais page but I can’t find it again. Basically my loop points don’t seem to work the way I want. I had this working in the past but can’t figure out what I did.

If press loop it does loop the entire clip but I want to do smaller loops inside it.

Despite all the sympathy you might have for the presets, €120 is probably not worth it. If you’ve read the entire discussion, you’ll have realized that these are three very similar plugins that can be reproduced in other ways. The survey is now over; they sent a 30% discount via email, and it’s a never-ending discount. If you search a bit, you might find it sooner or later.

Yeap $28 each was good. Premium sample packs can cost a lot more than that and aren’t nearly as flexible. They’ll be available for even less than that in the coming days. Summer sale or whatever other theme.

Akai knows they aren’t worth full price which is why they frequently discount all of their expansions and plugins.

Haha. Now you see why I feel that at $399, Sample is pound for pound the best MPC value available right now.

Don’t get me wrong, I do love L3/XL alot but there’s def a list of things not fully fleshed out yet like MPCe plugin implementation that are missing and fairly criticized. It’s just not a huge issue for me because I’ve never been a big MPE guy and for now I’m content with the overall upgrade to the pads and its quadrant uses on samples/expression/pad fx duty.

I love all the other new stuff, power boost, seq, perf fx etc a lot more than I miss the stuff missing.

My biggest gripe of all with the big new units is that with all this additional power I’d like to have more fx slots. Def have the juice for it.

Sticky or not, at least see if you vibe with the workflow! Also make sure it’s up to date so you get the new OS.

It’s the best MPC but only the second best SP.

Heads up folks the Sample seems to be available from Amazon in the UK right now from the Akai store at the normal price. Not sure how long for but some units must have slipped into stock.
