The all things MPC Thread (Part 4)

Feeding your OT mkII into this (vice versa) might be a good time for some dedicated punch in effects/flex beat/knob fx :eyes:

Possibly sold out in UK already? All I see is backorders

I thought it was really good myself. Went a lot deeper than other videos I’ve watched today. He’s learning on the fly here so I guess he’s not as succinct as usual.

I still don’t understand if you can play samples polyphonically , anyone tried it?

Yeah, if you slice a sample when you go back into chop mode it will still be there, it’s just that you can’t sequence the chops without assigning them to separate pads. Or at least I think you can’t? I usually get around this by playing a few patterns and using skipback to grab them.

But here it seems like you can record your take then go in and edit to get the events to get the feel just right. Even though it doesn’t look like the step editor lets you change slices or much of anything other than nudge and velocity… that’s probably all that’s needed. Looks like a fun for sure but wondering is it worth €400 mainly just for that one thing.

Also the missing feature I’ve been wanting on Move since forever - I don’t use Move Everything, bit too vibey for me to trust, plus I’m not really into the idea of loading the Move down with features in general - but either this isn’t something it can deal with, gotta wait on Ableton for that.

Re the plugin - are we sure that they’re actually going to release it? It’s been a while, not really sure why it would be taking this long? Kinda key to me for getting stuff off it.

@Kultschar gear4music has plenty

Edit: ah - your link is ā€œfulfilled from Irelandā€

Look at it this way fella, awaiting stock means more time to appraise what kind of device it is and if it’s for you based on real world usage reports and not influencer hype or flashy marketing and fomo…

Seems like most people are having fun tho so that’s a good start, I need new monitors first though so I’m gonna have to wait it out…

Finnish local music shop ran out of stock yesterday too. Luckily mine is on it’s way. Hopefully it’ll arrive tomorrow as I have a day off from work.

I almost never use the sequencer on the 404 so I didn’t even think about that aspect differing from the mpc

Shit, this is too logical. i can’t even ask a question, it’s all there

you can, but for some reason its not working in the gate, ā€œNote Onā€ mode, it feels like this isnt intended behavior tho

just tried supplying the cam kit with power and its still not working. the lightning to 1/8" adapter does work, but then you gotta use a stereo 1/8" jack to dual mono 1/4" and thats not the most portable option, so kinda pointless for me.

Shit. Major downer

Weird - this is normally pretty accurate. Ah, wait - I could’ve sworn one of the 20+ ones was UK.

andy mac said its a 20 minute recharge but that certainly wasnt the case for me. i dont know much about quickcharge/fastcharge whatever they call it, i imagine i would need a specific USB C wallwart and cable that supports it, right?

Can’t find much about effects levels on single Pad/Instrument ??

I just did the update fine via an iPad that’s about 3 years old , although it’s usb c , so may try that if you have one next time. Or iPhone for that matter.

Yea fast charge demands a higher wattage brick, lower range ones start at like 25W but can go way higher. Convenient to have for lots of devices these days.

I have lightening to dual 1/4ā€ that works as well but agreed, not ideal. No biggie for me as I have a newer iPhone and iPad but was hoping to use my old iPhone which is smaller and cleaned out save for samples and iOS music apps.

However, USB C is definitely the wave as there are so many creative ways to use the two way audio/midi interface.

How you getting on with the Arc, I keep flirting with the idea of getting one because my HP are 250ohm and I was really impressed with the what real phones did with calibration. Be nice to have that on the go for my 990s
