The MPC Sample may be the device you’re looking for, but just know as others have mentioned that the current MPCs/Force can as super simple or complicated depending on what you need for each project.
I think because its like a digital modular device with many different features that normal would be a separate device & it has no set way of starting & finishing a project, people get overwhelmed by its many options & call it complicated.
Keep in mind Akai IMO did a wonderful separating & combining many different options via the menu screen where each feature is laid out & 16 of them can be assigned to 1 of the 16 pads as a shortcut, plus you have the 5 in the quick side menu on the left. The new main menu option does a great job of putting many of those commonly used options in 1 window to help reduce menu-diving.
I think Samples could do well because it’s “simple” but, I can also see it leading many to want a gen2 MPC One with a battery.
