There’s a huge gap from the 80s to 2009 where the MD could fit. And the MPC is kind of an odd one for the topic.
There’s always this gap in the 1990s where grunge took over and the Boss DR series was one of the few drum machines to be found in stores. Legowelt has put the DR to good use. The Machinedrum was really bucking the trend to be such an expensive overachieving drum machine at that time.
