That RYTM 1.70 Sound

Dropping this in here cause I was kinda amazed at how good this sounded with just a few elements and recorded from the overbridge application with no plugins or editing.

Bumping this thread and bumping my mix. I’m still on 1.70, so I guess this makes sense.
Hope all is well out there on Rytmland. Yeah, this got a little help from my Digitakt, but it’s 95% Rytm, the best damn drum machine/ sampler in my opinion.

Great to hear all the different ways people are using the new machines!

I made a new SY CHIP challenge for myself, trying to make a more “recent” (1991) C64 SID song on the Rytm. Here goes “Water” from Last Ninja 3 (composed by Reyn Ouwehand)

I (re)bought the Analog Rytm right after the 1.70 update dropped, but before I really got a chance to use it, the Syntakt was updated with many of the features I was exited about in 1.70, so I haven’t really used the Rytm that much after buying it.

About a week ago, I was going to sell it, so I set it up for the buyer to try out, but he never showed up, meaning I played around with the Rytm a bit since it was hooked up. Long story short, it really is quite a cool machine that has some unique selling points (for example, the macro function), and I ended up deciding to delist and keep it for now

Here’s the track that I eventually created that day:

I’ve been vibing with these beats off and on for about a month, finally got serious and programmed them in song mode. This recording was finished up yesterday, one take with a little bit of post compression/ boost. Enjoy!

Off-Topic: I don’t know where else to post this and I didn’t want to make its own thread, so here’s a little message in a bottle:

I want to finally finish my Rytm sound (not sample!!!) pack. I have already lots of great sounds, but I’d love to get some inspiration! Would be great if you post some of your favourite sounds you want on the Rytm - as time stamped youtube links! Can be product demos from the TR-1000 as well :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

I aint got no timestamped videos for you, but I’d love any FM style sounds you could come up with. On the sounds dept, I got pretty much everything else covered with my Rytm except for FM sounds

PS: Make every effort to get that Rytm pack also MKI compatible pls :sunglasses:

That’s essential for me, otherwise I have no means of knowing what you mean (or anyone) :drunk:

However, it’ll be MKI compatible, yes

i have had rytm at least five or six times and got rid of it mk1 and mk2 - can anybody tell me why?

Same reason that I will be shocked and delighted to hear any patches that sound like what I’ve heard from the TR1000, probably.

Great box otherwise though.

I’m guessing we approach it differently. My interest is about 60/40 sampling over synthesis and I do enjoy its filters for sound design. My gripes are no sample chopping, stiff pads for velocity, 1 lfo per track and limited storage. Aside from that, I love my MKII. I get so many ideas going from just a couple samples, finding those sweet spots that become the foundation for a track. For more mangling, I have the DTII, though I wish it had the same analog sound quality of the Rytm. For this, I’ve been eyeing the TR-1000, but I think I would be giving something up for the sake of consolidation.

i am more synthesis in fact almost totally - i only ever used one vocal smaple on the rytm when i had it and a tanzbar sample kit that i loved the sound of otherwise its all synthesis - anyway i have a few elektron boxes that i relaly love and maybe the rytm will make a comeback if i find myself needing or wanting it again

I aint ever selling my Rytm. no way, not a chance. “A Muerta!” like they say

Having said that, TR-1000 will be a nice complement for a Rytm. Together, they can do ALL THE SOUNDS.

All right then, i’ll dig up some youtubes

ok first one - the clangy lead sound at 13:40
second one - the FM lead sound at 32:04 (same video)
third one - the opening sound of “deluge” 35:26 (same video)
fourth one - that plinky sound at the beginning of “Decembers Tragedy” 43:07 (same video)
fifth one - the lead sound from “Soft Summer” 49:57 (same video)

What can I say, this is one of my all time fave albums and I love the sounds it uses

Exactly! I see a RYTM in my future no doubt.

There’s a black RYTM for sale locally at a really good price.Been very tempted but also been swept up with the hype on the new machines being released recently……decisions and choices ))
