Cheers. So you always need an external sequencer or daw/recorder to capture midi or audio, if I understand correctly. That is a dealbreaker for me, so I hope midi/motion & velocity recording will be added in the future.
You can record 11s of audio (MIX source possible).
No sequencer = deal breaker ?
Donāt you have any synth without sequencer ?
No, I really donāt .
Well the MicroMonsta2, but thatās all. I really came to the conclusion that the gear I love the most, is gear that is self contained. Gear where I can go back to what I did before and where it is easy to export stems or track channels to a daw.
I already use my modular for more free flow things, meditational music making etc.
I also like to use my gear standalone. Now the MM2 has a keyboard mode (and 2 independant arps) .
I really enjoy to use Tempera standone.
A sequencer in each module?
No, an Oxi One to rule them all!
Oh stop!
You mean the things you played get out from midi OUT ? Is there other informations that are transmited when you play ?
Why playing at the same time ? Is that things that cannot been played by external sequencer ? Or is that to play live over sequencer ?
? It behaves as a regular midi synth with keys, you can play it, send midi notes, record them on a sequencer that can send them back. Nothing special with thatā¦
I think I understood your question.
In that video @substan plays notes with Oxi One and place emitters on the Tempera, in order to create live variations.
You can sequence emitters positions with midi notes or CCs.
Depending on their position they will plays a different track, or a different track cell.
So to have sound you need notes, and placed emitters.
Each of the 4 emitter notes can be controlled on a different channel.
You can also place emitters with midi notes on a specific channel.
RANDOMIZER FOR TEMPERA IS LIVE NOW!
Looks great. I havenāt tried it yet but looks like it will be a good editor as well as a randomiser.
NEW BETA DROPPED ON DISCORD
"Hello, itās almost the end of the week which means time for another Tempera beta firmware v2.2-beta13:
- Fixed small
Emitter MIDI
bug where under some circumstancesOut
needs to be toggled as well in order forIn
to work - Fixed hopefully a
Step LFO
bug where sometimes a deactivated step would play out. In other words, if the totalLength
is 8, sometimes the 9th step would play. - Polished
Max volume
parameter now applies a stronger attenuation. - Implemented external MIDI PolyAT. Since weāre very happy with Temperaās grid PolyAT pressure response, Tempera now also listens to polyphonic pressure from an external MIDI keyboard. Bring out your Linnstruments and Osmoses, (disable full MPE
) and map an axis on a parameter
The beta firmware is available for downloading here: https://fw.beetlecrab.audio/tempera/tempera-2.2-beta13.firmware
- Place the downloaded firmware file on an SD card or USB flash drive
- Insert it into Tempera and turn Tempera on while holding the Round button
- Follow instructions on the displays
Upgrade instructions are the same as before two posts up, please report quirks, crashes and bugs! "
Here I am with my anti 4/4 bootsā¦
Do all the samples have to be spread across 8 pads ?
8 pads ? Do you mean 8 CELLS or 8 TRACKS ?
I guess you mean 8 cells. What do you want to achieve? Tracks samples playback REL Y (sample position) has 1/1000 resolution. Can be modulated.
I still didnāt receive mine so it might be a silly question. I was thinking about the āsliceā mode where a sample is divided in 8 sections across the 8 vertical cells.
Was wondering what if my sample length is not a power of two of 4 beats.
I guess Iāll figure it out when I have the device.
I guess (mine it seems to arrive today) that you can slice manually
I am not sure whether I totally got your point. In my understanding, the maximum length available per track is 10.922 seconds. The actual length of a track, which you set with āstartā and āendā is divided into the 8 cells. This means that you can adapt slicing by modifying the track length. The constraints are that you cannot go over 11 sec of track length and that all 8 cells have the same length.
