Teklids - A Protective Cover and Adjustable Stand in One

Hey there Elektronauts,
I’m making these nifty little protective covers that also function as adjustable-angle stands for the Digi-sized Elektron boxes. The covers feature silicone pads to prevent the hard plastic from scratching your faceplates and magnets concealed under those that click the lid into place for a snug fit. If this sounds like something of interest to you please get in touch and/or check out on Instagram. Links to our Etsy Shop are also on the Instagram page. Keen to hear what you all think.
Cheers

**Edit - It should be said that these lids/stands fit all digi-sized Elektron boxes despite this being posted in the Digitakt category. Digitakt 1 & 2, Digitone 1 & 2, Syntakt and Analog Heat.

Looks cool! Please share the etsy link here as well, some of us are not willing to touch anything controlled by US tech-broligarchs. No shade to those who do, I get that the platforms still have a lot going for them. But still, fuck mark & co.

This looks really cool though, and I would be happy to support independent creators and good ideas! So, that etsy link would be great!

Smart idea! How does the cover fit a DT2? Sit on top or wrap around? Would it survive being put in a bag with a band around it? Would it be sturdy enough to Velcro a portable battery on the back of it?

Here’s a photo of the inside. You can see the lip that goes around the entire outer edge and then the silicone rubber pads that sit against the faceplate. Under those silicone pads there are magnets that keep the lid held in place. These work either in stand or lid mode. Just place it on the face when you need a protective cover or fold the legs out to one of the five different angles (15-34 degrees) and flip it around to the bottom when you need a stand.

These are made from a very durable PETG plastic that is impact and heat resistant. Definitely strong enough to chuck in a backpack with a strap around it. The magnets will hold it in place pretty well, but a strap would be a good idea. And yes you could definitely Velcro a battery to it as well. These are strong as hell! Stiff with very little flex. I’ve placed these on the ground and stood on them with my full weight (89kg) and they were fine. I’ve never tried that with a decksaver but I have a feeling a decksaver would crack.

The legs are also designed to be “breakaway” in case they take an accidental bump they should just pop out and then snap back in. If for any reason one of the legs does break, I can send you a new one and you just click it in.

These lids will fit any Digi sized box - Digitakt (all), Digitone (all), Syntakt and Analog Heat (cannot be used with desiccant pack). I’ve also got similar lids for other Elektron devices and other brands coming out soon too.

Oh and by the way… If you live in a humid climate like I do and you suffer from the dreaded sticky buttons, my Teklids also have an optional silica gel cartridge that you can clip in. See photo I justed post of the inside.

The silica gel in those cartridges is reusable and turns green when it’s waterlogged. Then you can pop the cartridge out of the lid, gently pry the lid off with a guitar pick or finger nails, dump the beads into a microwave or oven safe container, dry them out on the microwave or oven, and put them back.

Nice and I do like a lot the idea of the silica gel case. Let me check that Etsy shop when back mid-March if I still want a Digibox in my life by then :joy:

I bought a pair of these that arrived yesterday.
They are sturdy and seem well designed.
Haven’t taken them out of the studio yet, but so far, I’d say they are great.
