Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II

Nicely said and I totally agree. It’s a quirky little box at times but I’m pretty impressed. The sound quality of the fx are great and especially dope in the headphones. Its also a wicked mix of a toy like object and a piece of kit that has some serious fire power to play with.

Arm + Play: Count-in and overdub recording.
Arm + Shift + Play: Count-in and overwrite (Erase + Record) recording.

Youre definietly reading the chart corretly. There are just some incorrect things on there, like schooly was saying. Same with the online guide.

Manuals be effed isnt the end of the world to me. And I can find a lego for my fader.
As long as bugs are squashed and they fix the packaging shanaigans.

Yeah, I noticed a few issues with the manual as well.

The count in overwite just bit me.

Pro Tip: shift+B undo!

ahhh ok theres my confusion. all of this would be made clearer with a straight up written manual, maybe we’ll be blessed one day soon

MPC has two record buttons to separate these overdub/overwite actions, but the EP-133 would have achieved this with the shift button.

I can’t believe that at no point nobody put on a fader at te and found an issue.

I’ve midi faders that have took years of use, caps pushed on and off and zero issues. For so many to just die in transit or putting on a cap is an obvious issue.

I know it’s cheap but I’ve cheap midi controllers with faders that aren’t that fragile.

Sad thing is it’s an excellent machine but like the opz the internet will be flooded with disappointed users with hardware issues.

ty! great analogy

I never used the record on my mpc.

ima hit play and overdub. or just erase the track first.

100%

Its like a glass canon.

Ive just gone through an 404mkII, just tried a digitakt and this machine is the one that has what Ive been looking for in a hardware sampler/sequencer.

Im feeling the software integration too. Simple. Sleek. Fast.
Looking forward to possible backing up of projects?

Same. Love the sp and digitakt but this thing is so nice to use. Which only makes the issue even more annoying as I don’t want a refund, I want a working machine

There’s no way to tweak velocity once a note’s punched in, right? I’ve googled and RTFM so I’m asking for a friend :smirk:

In the step sequencing portion of the manual (9.2) it says you move to the step and then hold shift and twist orange knob.

You can, but it changes the velocity for every note on that step.

Humm, I confused that with micro shifting. Gonna try this, thanks. If so, that’s all I need from the sequencer.

The group system is really powerful. It’s a primitive version of the MPC Programs, right? Each group is its own beast with sounds and sequences and stuff, but if I understand it correctly, you can leap independently back and forth in each Group’s lane, which brings it closer to blackbox territory but with old school workflow.

How could my friend have missed it? Thank you, mr. BeerMan :heartpulse:

You could try the diy fix that doesn’t require soldering or opening the case.

I got lucky and mine works perfect and I got to say this thing is the most fun device I have used in a long time.
