I donāt mean polarizing in a bad way. I think itās a great thing actually. Folks are really passionate about Elektrons and there are sub groups of folks who love/hate different models.
I know that all of them have their strengths and weaknesses so trying to be patient and consider context. Watch videos. Listen to music made by them. Read about workflowsā¦
Anyways, apologies to OP for derailing againā¦. Iāll find the appropriate threads to pick your collective brains concerning Elektron.
Back to KO2.
Damn this workflow is butteryyyyyyyyy.
Love to build patterns with the commit.
The loop just keeps going. You can edit sounds on the fly.
No screen. Or waveforms. Muah!
So my fader and speaker both work (for now). I even put the fader cap on all the way without it incinerating. I did have one key that was sticking occasionally, but I popped it off, cleaned it up, and that seemed to do the trick. I think the build quality is pretty solid. Of course, knowing of the fader issues, I probably wonāt just toss it in my bag like I would with my Model:Samples.
I will probably be keeping an eye out for a hard case. I set it on top of my 11" iPad Pro, and they are very similar in size (with the EP-133 obviously being taller), so I wonder if there is something off the shelf that will work for it.
As far as tactile feel, the keys feel pretty nice, and the fader has a nice little bit of resistance to it.
Anyways, hereās to hoping TE can clear up the QA issues that have popped up.
Sooo, this fader thing is a real thing? Saw a video on how to fix it. I think Iād return it before attempting it.
The one I ordered is expected to arrive Friday. Either way, this should be a fun one.
Is the EP-133 capable of sampling while the sequencer is playing? Can you make a beat, and then play the beat while recording a sample of another instrument being played on top of the beat?
Can audio just be passed through the inputs to be mixed with the EP-133?
1.no. pattern must be stopped. then you can enter sample mode.
2.yes
ahhh shoot. Thanks!
ok this took me a second to figure out so quick tip -
I wanted to unload sounds i had been trying out from the pads so that they would just show as empty. all i saw in the manual was that you can permanently delete a sound but i didnt see a way to unload a sound. so to unload a sound and just have a pad be empty you have to go to sound and punch in like 999 or where ever you donāt have sound in your library and hit the pad. it will load a āblankā sound to that pad. This is kind of a funny way to do it. would be nice if there was an unload sound button press combo.
Just curious as Iāve always had all pads loaded on every bit of equipment, whatās the advantage of unloading sounds and keeping the pad empty?
Is it a workflow preference? Some other benefit?
For me its an organizational thing. That way I can see the pads that have the sounds im using in the track and the other pads i can visually see are empty and can be filled with new sounds.
That way when i come back to a project later im not having to go through all the pads to see whats what.
So for me I got my shipping notification couple of days after ordering from TE. But it still says Label created so⦠I guess I should start praying or stop watching this thread and hope for the best.
Is anyone in the same situation?
I walked into Guitar Center tonight and bought one. It was the last one. Just by chance!
I played with the one they had there, I think this thing feels fucking awesome! The one there worked just fine. It had the slider cap on, the guy at the store said it needed some pressure and he was aware of some of the problems reported online.
Weāll see what happens with mine when I open it.
In case anyone is interested, I did a little live-stream earlierā¦
(donāt expect an in-depth tutorial, or any knowledge)

Verdict so far: Itās better than I expected!
It might be with what one expects from hardware from te. I own a op1 field and I donāt think itās touring proof groove box even if it has a high price tag. TE products are not ābuilt like a tankā. And for what I know I donāt think they advertise it like that - minus the op-z plastic thing where I think that said something about how amazingn that bendy plastic case was.
I see TE products as toys for adults, and I think they are proud of that. They do use Lego in their products, right?
To me, one of their biggest strengths is how inviting their toys are to just say with them, and eventually that might inspire you to make great music.
So I expect for a TE product to be solid enough to be used for a long time without breaking, but I also need to take good care of them. As a consumer that knows nothing about the technicalities of hardware faders and knobs i have no reason to think otherwise :). Aka looks and feels good to meš
Makes sense, especially on a device like this one. .
I should probably try to do the same (if I can remember)
Hm. Received shipping confirmation two days ago - but itās still in TEs warehouse. UPS shows only ālabel createdā - not picked up yet
I guess they are quite busy, good for them
Yes thatās it! Thanks for figuring it out
I put the cap on slowly, works ok. Everything works ok. Iāve read zero instructions and watched zero vids. This thing is so fun and sounds so great.
I think Iām one of the more easily pleased posters on this board, but man Iām loving this thing.
Mine has just arrived from TE (#2008xxx), and it seems to be working perfectly!
