Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II

I’ll concentrate on 1.70 (rytm) and OP1 into OP1f combination, skipping my recent order on this.

next year tho :flying_saucer:

Can’t we all just get a long (lasting product that sounds great and will stand the test of time for less than the cost of a car payment)?

Mine arrived this morning from B and H. Box in pristine condition, but no time yet to try it out. Will do so tonight

Since I have been using the device for four days now, I want to say what I feel is right for this as a $300 device. Something none of my Elektrons do that this can is live quantization. This applies for the FX, and an adjustable sync in/out rate for incoming/outgoing MIDI data. Quite frankly, this should be standard for a lot of devices. The implementation here is tight.

12 mono or 6 stereo voices is another win in my book for the price point. Even if limited to 20 seconds, this is a big deal for me. And I also like that it is super easy to automate a drum kit with something like an external sequencer or drum generator, because in group view your NUM1, NUM2, NUM3 etc get assigned as notes C, D, E etc. And when you are in keyboard mode, you get the chromatic play-ability you would also expect. Great stuff :+1:

Think all elektron boxes have live quantization recording, its almost the only way i been inputting notes on my ar, a4, st atleast…

That’s not a live quantize. It’s quantize after the note is recorded. i.e. you hear where the placement falls on the second run of your pattern.

Please have a look:

Especially Smoof’s comment regarding sequencer config.

As far as I am aware, doing live quantize (REC + PLAY x2) on the Digitone Keys, Digitakt, & Syntakt, when playing notes that are not on time, it will not hold the note until it is on time.

if anyone out there is thinking they need this, please don’t pay a scalperino double what it’s worth.

It’s literally not worth it, use what you have. Or don’t!

I really don’t get the scalper mentality on things like this
$300+tax (~$330?) paid,
~$500 sold, with free shipping ($465 after reverb fees, minus maybe $10-15 shipping)
~450 net to your bank account
you maybe make $120, and reverb shoots you a 1099 for your earnings so you have to file + pay taxes on your ‘gains’

how in the world is this worth anyone’s time?
Even if you make $120 how much time was spent on the whole process? waiting for and filing another tax document?
and what if the customer has a fader issue, or speaker issue and they ask to return? Reverb is going to hold you accountable for that even if you insist ‘no returns’ in the description.

strange arbitrage-loving beings we are.

Think scalpers aint smart enough to know that they are supposed pay taxes on the profits ^^

Sync is pretty tight via usb so far. Recorded a bunch of tracks into Bitwig yesterday. Only thing that’s annoying is when tracking each group you have to assign the fader to level and use that to bring things in and out. Would be so nice to have a quick group mute combo.

I dont mind flipping gear for a few bucks and some hustle, but scalping is just lame to be honest

I blame the buyers, they fuel the scalpers

Can confirm Lego pieces fit nicely. I replaced my fader which i could only get halfway down with the one that was included. Going to try some other pieces and build a small stand to fit the side holes at some point

It is not this model which inspired TE

Gotten mine, looks awesome, sounds awesome, very smart workflow. I love the keys(pads) it’s actually really good to play fixed velocity drums, except machine gun same finger kind of retrigs. It’s awesome that after a lot of minimal and micro products they seem to focus on space. There is a huge out of space between the drum pads Wich makes it a pleasure to play.
Pay attention when and where you open the box, otherwise you might send all those tiny Legos flying in your car, and only find three. Anybody can guess which one I chose not to put the Lego piece in?
Slider works great.

Speaker is very good, close to the op-1 field. Just don’t throw away you PA and blame this post. After all is a small portable device:)
Sampling only when the play is not running.

First impressions is that this is my favourite TE product, due to how much fun it is, features, how good it sounds, and how smart the layout and workflow is. Amazing

The store was out because of the scalpers buying more than one device. The buyers then had to skip buying from a store and had to buy from a scalper if they wanted one. How is it the buyers fault?

yeah they ‘had’ to buy from a scalper🤣

I accidentally muted layer C. Anyone remember how to unmute it again? 🫠 I looked in the “manual” for mute, without luck.
