Tape 16 - virtual 16 track

To be fair to the developer they seem to be very engaged on their subreddit when it comes to feature requests and bugs. https://www.reddit.com/r/Tape16

It is undoubtedly a big sack of vibe coded bloatware. But it’s moderately fun and very pretty. And tbh asking for an M1 processor (which came out 5-6 years ago iirc) is fairly commonplace for pretty much all mac software these days.

Fors has made a groovebox?
I love his plugins, and had no idea.
Cheers!

A slight diversion but just downloaded this https://www.reelaudio.app/ - a TX7 4-track emulation for the iphone and it is genuinely brilliant. Wandering around London field recording whilst monitoring from my Airpods is a total game changer. And the interface is very enjoyable too!

New features video released. Quite entertaining. Do slightly wonder how quite how the guy manages to code anything given what seems to be a beyond horizontal level of laid backness

I assume it’s all Claude. The author of Model 8 seems to at least have more actual coding and/or dsp experience but tbh that could all be vibe-coded too.

When a social-media musician suddenly announces they’re releasing a piece of software, it generally means they’ve used AI prompts to make it. Sometimes they’ve hired an actual programmer but obviously that takes a decent amount of investment and therefore likely signals an actual career change lol.
