Talking in Discord via Mic connected to Digitakt External Inputs

I have a Mixer and the Digitakt is connected to the Tape Out of the mixer. The Digitakt is connected to Windows 10 Computer via USB, and I set the connection to Overbridge.

In Ableton, I can now monitor the external input coming from the mixer on channels 11/12, and the sampler tracks on channels 3-10.

Now, when I switch to Discord, I can select “Digitakt 2” as the audio input device, but it only detects audio coming from the sampler tracks, the external input audio is not heard. Anyone knows if there’s a way to configure the driver so that I can hear them through Windows audio, so that I can talk to Discord via the Mic attached to my mixer through Digitakt?

have you tried enabling monitor-in in the sampler section? not sure if this is working, but could be an easy fix.

if you dont mind running ableton live, then there is a free piece of software called synchronous audio router. it becomes an audio interface that hosts other interfaces and interconnects them. so you can send an ableton track to a new virtual input which is selectable in discord. SAR is especially useful if you want to route the audio from any application into your DAW, but thats another story. hope that helps.

Yes I installed SAR and could get it going I think, but, I still wonder if it is supported natively. I’m not sure, maybe I’ll try the Digitone too but I’d think the behaviour would be identical.

I also had this other software Voicemeeter Banana, but I’m not sure… I prefer to keep things as slick as possible…

I am not familiar with doing this with overbridge, as I primarily use the class compliant usb. With the class compliant usb the digitakt does not mix its inputs into it’s main output. The digitone’s audio inputs are a bit different and they are routed over class compliant USB, as I use the digitone as a hub to video chat with friends and get all my synth stuff into the chat through the digitone and its usb audio.

Sorry if this isn’t too helpful, but I haven’t configured overbridge enough to get it to actually work in a satisfying manner, but really love the class compliant usb audio features.

Aha, so I will maybe try to use the Digitone instead as the audio interface and see what goes there. I thought they would have consistent routing behaviour for their devices… But then probably it’s just a matter of the firmware being more ahead on one than others.

The digitone is generally more feature rich when it comes to external audio. The audio routing is a bit different internally, which is subtle but can cause some inconsistencies between the devices.

All this said, I’m pretty sure what you want to do should be possible with overbridge, as it gives you direct access to the audio ins of the digitakt, whereas the usb audio just gives you the output of the main mixer.

Okay so when I use the Digitone (and turn up the L/R Input volume in the Mixer section hehe), it works. So it’s good to have a Digitone I guess :stuck_out_tongue:
