long story short: soda spilled into my OT and now the keys are sticky. it still functions but i would like to clean the buttons and do a potential damage check. Is there any tips i should know before taking my OT apart? i am more than well versed in electronics, but it never hurts to ask around before i go poke my beloved OT with a screwdriver
Theres a video on the tube that will help.
It was linked in a post not long ago here.
Take detailed photos when you do. Good to share with the world. Good to figure out that screw you’ve still got is supposed to live.
The control pcb is attached by a few connectors to the main board, so you’ll need to detach them as you remove the lid.
Otherwise; cleaning your trig buttons is a breeze. I’d suggest you also clean the holes in the lid around the buttons
You could also stuff a few mm of elastic band cuttings into the holes of the trig button caps to elevate your buttons a little higher and give them some more bounce.
Thanks for the tips guys! i will go in some time over the weekend.
