Sysex Dump: Complete Requirements

Hi all,

I always stumble upon the requirements to make a Sysex Dump successful.

The infos for that in the manual are distributed there.

So I took notes, which I like to share in order to help anyone being confused with this like me:

Sysex Dump AR (OS 1.22)
Requrements:
AR Global Settings:

  • MIDI COnfig: Ouput zo USB or USB+MIDI
  • SYSTEM: USB+MIDI (Overbridge Mode off)

C6:
Main Screen: Global: Turbo OFF
Config: MIDI IN + Out -> Analog Rytm
All other options 0 or OFF

generally speaking, if Turbo is Off, it means you haven’t negotiated a good simple hook up with the AR/F/K
.
if you have everything as it should, then starting C6 after the AR is on and cabled up should result in it selecting AR by default with the Turbo appearing on - now, this may be a red herring in the USB transfer stakes, but if I was transferring data I would (and do) leave this be … Turbo=On, it certainly isn’t a hindrance and may just be beneficial - don’t see any need to disable that one myself !
.
if you have multiple devices attached, then do check in config page that correct one is chosen
.
Turbo midi allows 10x faster connections between compatible devices
.
.
edit: it quite clearly states elsewhere in comments from Elektron employees that Turbo ought to be on with USB !

ok, thanks for clarification.

But I observed, that Sysex Dump (and I’m talking only about Sysex Dump) is not working here with Turbo ON.

Any idea, what might be wrong?

Thanks, Clic

Not really, but my experience is that C6 should boot up and actively show Turbo on - then don’t touch it ! Toggling leads to issues imho
If it doesn’t boot up with Turbo on then it perhaps is a system /os/pc thing -on OSX it’s been steady as a rock for me from day one, so I don’t have much in the way of de-bugging experience !
