Detecting some BOC vibes ![]()
Are these sounds from pack 3 ?
Insta buy fo so.
Yeah, release the third one now, we can’t wait!! ![]()
This sounds GREAT, I’m all in. That’s exactly the other side of the sound that I want to explore and it sounds a lot like the kind of presets and sounds that I make for myself, so yeah: bring it on!!
Thank you guys!
Hopefully next month will be ready.
I will upload more sounds .
Meanwhile enjoy your music ! ![]()
Patterns for sys_cdx vol. 1
I picked up these sound packs a couple weeks ago and have been enjoying them a lot. I’m a big fan of strange textures and clicky percussion, so the description and intention of the packs appealed to me right away, but I’ve found them even more interesting and useful in ways I didn’t expect.
For instance, as you flick through the list of the sounds, some of them are extremely subtle. Some of them are barely audible at all. At first I was scratching my head, wondering if something was wrong, but then I would load a mysterious sound out of curiosity and start exploring it. Play with the filter envelope, play with the modulation amounts, try different notes up or down the scale, etc. and little ghosts of sounds start appearing. This kind of exploratory approach is something I try to do with all synth presets, but with these packs in particular, the sounds kind of draw you in and make you start poking around to see what’s there.
The subtlety of the sounds also makes them great for layering. I like to build patterns one track at a time, making small additions along the way until some bigger idea becomes clear. So I tend to stay away from sounds that will dominate the pattern, and instead opt for sounds with a light touch that will play nicely next to others. These sounds are great for that approach. I often find myself adding multiple tracks of clicky, subtle percussion sounds, and then later not remembering doing that at all, because the sounds have blended together to form a cohesive background texture that feels like its own new thing.
I’ll try to come back to this thread at some point soon to share some actual music so I’m not just talking about music
But for now just wanted to say thanks for the cool sounds, they’re getting a lot of use over here.
Thank you @your_lamp for this excellent review !
It really means a lot to me.
I’m glad you enjoy the patches.
Looking forward to listen to your music.
Here’s the demo of a couple tracks I initially made during easter.
Made 6 tracks based on vol1 + similar patches I made before the release of this sound pack.
Thanks man for sharing your recordings. It’s great to hear how you utilised those patches. I like the minimal rhythmic vibe. Reminds me early Monolake works.
I really appreciate you took the time to dive in and support this project!
Coming soon…
Can’t wait ![]()
I’m very interesting as well about this sonority
Thank you @Toumat
I had made a selection of 131 patches from 200 that I made, I selected the best. I added macros to all the patches, velocity, mod wheel, after touch and pitch bend. Now I’m finishing the documentation: a very detailed patch sheet.
This sound bank is all about cinematic atmosphere. Consists of 27 strings, 45 pads, basses, lead, textures and a small percussion kit (kicks and snares are never enough!).
It’s all about polyphony and unison. I’m inspired by the Xerrox concept by Alva Noto and the simulacrum ‘s Jean Baudrillard.
I have made emulations of violas, cellos, contrabass, violin but you should not expect a Stradivarius, instead you will hear a sound of a cello degraded into magnetic tape and dust and blurred into microscopic digital particles. Memories of violas that sounds like have been recorded on a VHS tape. Made also some drones/ pads inspired from my favourites artists like Philip Jeck , William Basinski, Fennesz, Kevin Drumm and many more that fit in the Xerrox concept. I made also emulations of legendary synths like ANS synth, Trautonium, Sy77, Moog, Kurzweill and many more.
Let us know when you’re pack is ready ![]()
Hey guys!
Happy to announce the 3rd and the last sound pack for the sys_cdx project. This one is called the XERROX Archive.
A Cinematic & Ambient Sound Bank for the Elektron Digitone 1.2.keys
Transform your Elektron Digitone into an engine of beautiful decay. Deeply inspired by Alva Noto’s Xerrox series, the cinematic atmospheres of Tarkovsky, and the philosophy of the simulacrum, this sound bank subverts the cold precision of FM synthesis to celebrate the melancholic weight of ruined audio.
Discover a haunted acoustic ecology of crumbling tape loops, melting architectures, and massive orchestral washes buried in microscopic digital snow—meticulously crafted and macro-mapped for the modern ambient, IDM, and film composer.
Discover the emulation of legendary synths like ANS, Solina, Sy77 and many more.
highly recommended external Reverb, and an external midi keyboard.
131 patches: strings 27, pad 45, bass 13, lead 10, texture 10, brass 3, arp 3, Drumm kit and percussive sounds 28.
All patches have macros assigned. Mod wheel, velocity mod, after touch, pitch bend.
suitable for digitakt too or just dn?
Only for DN ! Maybe in the future I will make samples also for Dt
This will be a free update
Hi there! Is this new pack what you were talking about here? Or maybe there was too much time or effort involved in development to keep it a free update after all?
Hey man ! You are right, but the initial idea was to make 20 patches for free and became the most time, effort and energy consuming project above all 3. Anyway I decided to give it for free for those who purchased vol. 1 and 2.
You can apply this code: hbf1ue2
For those you already purchased the 3d you will get a refund.
I hope you enjoy the patches.
Looking forward for your feedback and music!
Cheers
