Synthstrom Audible Deluge [inc. Open Source development]

Yeah such a hard sell with that display.
If they release a computer editor to compensate I could be interested

If it is possible to use it with a midi controller - and why shouldnā€™t it -
then it would be great to see a video of it.
It would make quite a few people jump on the Deluge Train i guessā€¦

Can you modulate all the timestretch parameters with LFOs and parameter locks (such as pitch without affecting sample length)?

They have sneakily added an option to get some shortcuts printed on cover panel. That will definitely help the menu diving, I suppose.

search manual for ā€œshortcutā€

Impossible to decide for me now thereā€™s supposedly a new standalone MPC with a tasty screen without anything official, doubt Iā€™ll be able to pre order anyway. I wasnā€™t really after the synth side of this thingā€¦

@ callofthevoid:
i forwareded your idea ā€œTimestrechā€¦ Can you set a sample to timestrech when using it as a
polyphonic sample? Ie if you sampled a piano note and play it
chromatically is there an option so every note in a chord runs the same
length?ā€

to Rohan via Ian. Since this is a very good idea, iā€™m almost sure it will be included.

and it seems like they are quite happy with the way things are going so farā€¦

ps @ callofthecoid:

if we are athinking about the same, then the feature youre wanted reg timestreching=keeping chordā€™s notes the same length already available.

Yeah they already added it  just slicing and resampling to hopefully add now and Iā€™d almost definitely be in. Altho the new MPC might be better for me in the portable sampler/sequencer areaā€¦UI looks faster for browsing etc. Iā€™m broke for now so will keep an eye on both units. Really hope the deluge does well tho, itā€™s a cool box and nice to see some risk taking and new hardware directionsā€¦

reg the sound: i was surprised to hear people complain about the ā€œthinā€ sound,
as i heard it in person and thought: ok, that sounds quite the asr/mpc3k way, warm and phat.

but it seems that a mistake was made when recording the demo videos, acc to synthstrom.
new videos are on the wayā€¦

btw GOLDBABY wrote this on facebook:

ā€œThis instrument was designed in New Zealand! Deluge by Synthstrom Audible: http://www.synthstrom.com/delugeorder.html Went to the release party & it sounds amazing! Want one!ā€

Anyone cop one in the end?

My understanding was there was a ~4 month turnaround from order to delivery *; so it might be a little while till you start getting end user feedback.

* Correct me if Iā€™m wrong.

I copped one. No delays announced, so Delugeā€™s should be with their new owners in a couple of months time.

Waitingā€¦ waitingā€¦

Anyone received theirs yet? Is it awesome?

It has been a bit delayed but should be shipped pretty soon. There is a closed fb group for all the early adopters where they have been publishing nice production pics.

Thatā€™s a nice touch for a delay

Yes, Iā€™ve heard about this. I regret not pre-ordering, I think the Deluge is much more my thing than the upcoming DigiTakt.
