Have a great gig!
Should have expected it in retrospect but the Soundgas stand is basically all the stuff in the auction plus a couple of Space Echosā¦
The EMOM gig was great, even if itās too early in the day for that sort of thing. Loved Cherylās confidence and energy. James Glew was stand-out. Great to see so much Elektron gear put to good use, lots of live tweaking and his music was great. Hope to catch him later to geek out over his setup.
Star of the show for me today was Audio Computerās Beat Friend. Had so much fun playing with that. Looking forward to its release next May.
The thing I enjoyed most, aside from catching up with friends, was the vintage drum machine talk from Oli Freke. Loved seeing the Luna-1 Linn LM-1 clone on the modular meet bit too. That thing is incredible!
I really enjoyed harassing the staff on the Ableton stand, trying to get any sort of answer out of them about Ableton Move.
LOL me too. Was lovely to meet Tom ELPHNT there, although he remained impressively tight-lipped!
I almost did that at the end of the day but thought better of it, as I imagine theyād fielded the same questions all day long and were probably quite peeved that the release day wasnāt 3 days earlier.
I tried to get a ballpark figure out of them ājust so that I know how much to hold back when I hit the rest of the stands hereā
No dice
My guess is Ā£799 and eventually weāll see it reduced to Ā£649
If itās over Ā£500 Iāll struggle to justify it, if Iām honest.
Lower than OP-1F, higher than Polyend Tracker Mini is my logic. You can just get the Tracker Mini for less than Ā£500 now, but it was what Ā£650 at launch? Given the price of the Push 3 and the obvious workflow compatibility with Ableton Live, itās going to be commanding a premium.
I got my Roland P-6 at the show today. Iām trying to ignore the imminent Ableton Move and Teenage Engineering releases.
Ha! I saw them in the Roland room but gave them a wide berth for fear of temptation!
Yeah the Teenage Engineering guy basically said thereās a load of new stuff coming from them.
I went in looking for boutiques, but there werenāt any but got to play with a P-6 and an S-1. I was blown away by the big sounds, but the size of the devices, although super cute, didnāt fit my big hands and fingers with arthritis.
He is a super helpful and super nice guy.
Agreed! I was going to say it was nice to put a face to the voice, but Iāve already seen his face before. Nice to meet him in person, anyway.
Iām really excited about this one. Glad to hear they have a release window!
