I am trying to load wav samples onto my Syntakt using transfer. I can not drag and drop and samples onto my Syntakt because no samples show in my sample folders. Tried various searches online but I have had no luck. Can someone please help?
The Syntakt is not a sample player
You can’t. Syntakt is a synthesizer, it doesn’t have any sample based features.
If you can get sample packs, does this not mean you can load wav samples on for drums?
They are called Sound Packs.
As an example, the Tone Spells Sound Pack is describe like this :
Type : Synthesis
Made for : Syntakt
Works on : Syntakt
Included : 128 synth patches
It does not support user samples - period.
If somebody records the Syntakt and sells samples of it, it does not imply any ability to load these on the ST
Is it possible to create your own sound pack?
Yes and it is possible to save Sounds directly in the Syntakt.
From the Syntakt manual p.28 :
8.1 THE +DRIVE SOUND LIBRARY AND THE SOUND POOL
The +Drive sound library can hold up to 2048 sounds (256 sounds in each bank A-H) that are available to all projects. Sounds can be loaded to a pattern from either the +Drive sound library or the Sound pool of the active project. The difference between the two is that the +Drive sound library has the capacity of 2048 sounds, available to all projects, while the Sound pool is a part of a project and limited to 128 sounds. The primary benefit of sounds loaded to the Sound pool is the possibility for them to be sound locked. This feature is not available for the sounds in the +Drive sound library. For more information, please see “9.9.2 SOUND LOCKS” on page 42.
8.1.1 ADDING SOUNDS TO THE SOUND POOL
You must first add sounds to the Sound pool to be able to perform sound locks.
- Press [FUNC] + [SONG MODE] to open the SOUND menu.
- Select SOUND MANAGER, and then press [YES].
- Select the sounds you want to add to the Sound pool by highlighting them and pressing [YES].
- Press [RIGHT] to open the SOUND OPERATIONS menu.
- Select COPY TO … and then press [YES].
- Select SOUND POOL, and then press [YES].
Thanks to everyone
They are not sounds theyre just the parameters that modulate the oscillators that are saved, literally bytes for each preset…the syntakt has a 1gb hard drive but definitely doesn’t need it 10mbytes would be enough…i wonder why it has that much storage…maybe they have something planned for it…hmmm…
A man can dream.
Op was ahead of their time
New update which solves my problem!
… and nearly three years later it emphatically does ![]()
Can’t believe it has been 3 years. It has passed quickly!
does someone know how i can stop that the second sample doesnt loop anymore ?
Sample 2 is only looping when the AHD envelope Hold Time parameter is set to NOTE or if the ADSR envelope is used …
… so, to play once, have an AHD with a specific hold time !
adjust your trig lenght to whatever you need (if it plays for too long, your trig lenght is not correct), also make sure your decay/release stage is fast enough to cut the trails when trig lenght is reached
