I’ve got a little sound design project I’m working on for some motion graphics film and it has a load of CGI shapes sort of scattering and moving around the screen, that sort of typical TV Channel ident stuff.
I’ve been doing stuff in ableton but thought as I’m mainly making nice plucky tuned percussion sounds, to give the syntakt a whirl.

What I think I want to explore is programming drops or cascading tones that sound like they’re colliding or having impacts. I was then going to just have a go at making multiple patterns and ‘throws’, and then I considered chucking them around a musical scale to make everything more melodic. Problem is, the scale functionality as far as I’m aware just sets the keyboard input, so if I use some sample and hold LFOs or record some crazy ctrl alt stuff, it’s just going to sound horribly dissonant isn’t it? Am I missing a trick?
