Syntakt <-> HeatMk2

Hi! Does Heat Mk2 do all the analog effects, glue-compression like stuff etc. what Syntakt has?

No. Heat does distortion. It has an envelope follower which can do some compressor-style effects (e.g. limited ducking).

Neither machine has compression. You can do psuedo-compression with the envelope follower on the Heat or trigger ducking on the Syntakt via the sequencer, but if you want analog domain “glue compression” you should get a compressor.

There are some fun tricks to make it sound like a super dramatic compressor slamming too, for example sometimes I crank up the drive to the max and set the envelope follower to decrease the drive and it sounds just like overcompression.

You can use it in more subtle ways too, of course.

This is a nice trick that I like as well.
