Because I have a Syntakt and I was considering adding the Roland jd-08 to it since it is polyphonic, and I want to see if anyone has this setup and how it works for them.
Well, the JD-08 is a bitimbral polyphonic synth so it will work fine with any of Elektron’s MIDI sequencing units, including Syntakt.

I have both. Both are versatile but i think they are quite different in soundwise. Jd-08 sounds extremely “Rolandish” cuz it’s a clone of jd800. If you want to do something like making beats on syntakt and playing melodies with it on Jd-08 with you keyboard, i’m sure it’ll be a nice choice.
Also Syntakt could be polyphonic if you want to play Syntakt as a polysynth. Each track on Syntakt has a independent sound source so you just need to copy a same machine to several digital tracks and route the midi to different channels manually to make it poly. I’m sure there’s a lot people already did this in this forum.
